Most Talented 3 Sport Athlete in NKY History
Wasn't at least one (if not a couple) of the Longs (Geoff, Jon, etc.) from Lloyd in the 60's outstanding 3-sporters??

Covington Catholic 45 Newport Central Catholic 42 NKAC JV Tourney
This sounds like the 9th region JV finals, not the NKAC; which I thought crowns a champ on win-loss record during the season for Frosh, JV and Varisty? Good luck to both teams!

Seeded or unseeded
Didn't PC vote against seeding when they & Campbell were by far the largest schools in the old 38th?? BTW--Definately seeded!!

Walton 38 Newport Central Catholic 36 Final All A
At the State "A" finals I've been to, the tourney directors give the t-shirts to the winning team at the conclusion of the game?? The regionals are another story, but printing up shirts for WV in advance wasn't much of a stretch; either way, I've got no problem with this?? Congrats to both teams on a fine showing and to WV for bringing home the title to NKY!!

Covington Holy Cross 48 Owen County 35
Good luck to the Indians--bring the title back to NKY!!

Louisville Collegiate 57 Bishop Brossart 52 OT
Again, its a shame for the kids' sake that whoever wrote this article, must have not gotten the memo and went to Richmond instead. FWIW--Brossart had the ball out of a timeout with 17 seconds to go and the game tied, inbounded to a big right above the key, and he inexplicably passed it to a guard well behind the mid-court line--Over & back turnover. BB stepped up their "D" and limited Collegiate to a forced 8 footer, which the Mustangs rebounded, pass to Saunders, who missed from mid-court. Trentman's 3 was the only BB score in OT, and they did miss several other 3's (perhaps relying too much on the long ball, or maybe limited to those attempts by LC's defense?), along with a couple inside attempts as I recall. Either way a tough loss for Brossart, and by their reaction, obviously a huge win for Collegiate. Congrats to the Titans and best of luck to them the remainder of the tournament. As others have stated, BB will deal with their disappointment and move on to the remaining games on their schedule. Sorry to be such a stickler for accuracy, but it bugs me when so called "journalists" obviously weren't even at the game, and/or didn't take the time to watch the available replay; before writing a story to "inform" the interested fans of the state??? Please tell me this guy or gal doesn't get paid to do this??

Was the person that wrote this article even at the game??

Newport Central Catholic 59 Highlands 56
Nice win for NCC, and it sounds like Highlands is improving? Could be interesting come district time? On another note, I can't remember reading a thread when the winning team's coaching is being criticized so much? Is this the same guy that many of the same folks voted one of the area's best in another recent thread??

All "A" Talking Point - School Sizes
Sounds like you're for classifying basketball in KY? Let's see, if we've got 6 classes for about 220 football schools; then we'd need about 8 for 270+ hoops' schools?? Good luck selling that one. On second thought, we could then have the 8 "state champions" meet in a weekend tourney the following week, to determine THE state champion??

ALL "A" State Tournament--Who wins??
Hearing the winner of that first round game (Owen vs. Buckhorn) may be a serious contender, although they'd likely see overall favorite Holy Cross in round #2 ??

All "A" Talking Point - School Sizes
You may be right on this, unless Bracken County, Nicholas, or maybe Paris are larger?? No clue--I know Brossart is the smallest 2-A football school, which would mean only 32 schools are smaller, but obviously a lot of small schools don't play football. I've heard current numbers place them is the 25-27th smallest, again in football; but reclassification used several years ago numbers ('07-'08 I think?). Hard to not consider them a true "A" school, especially considering they are 13th on the list above??

9th Region All A, All tourney team?
Can barely line the birdcage with it any more?? :D

All "A" Talking Point - School Sizes
Region 1....12 Region 2.....8 Region 3.....7 Region 4.....7 Region 5.....7 Region 6.....7 Region 7.....6 Region 8.....7 Region 9....11 Region 10....9 Region 11....5 REgion 12....4 Region 13....9 Region 14...10 Region 15...10 Region 16....8 It's not far off now, with only a couple of regions with very low participant numbers?? They have always been reluctant to move teams outside of their original KSHAA regions. Doing so would even numbers, but would mess with some traditional rivalries. Regions 11 & 12, along with possibly the 7th would end up with some very large schools participating under your plan. Seems to work OK as it is.
