Questions - Does anyone know if there is a pre-determined enrollment size to be considered an "A" School for Basketball? It looks to be Bardstown at 650, the next largest school is Christian Academy of Louisville at 653 and who did not participate in the All "A" this year, but I believe they have in past years. (could be wrong)

 

Is the cutoff based on boys enrollment only? And if so, do they use only grades 9-11 as they do in Ohio?

Wow. Didn't realize Buckhorn was so small.

That marks a significant jump for B'town from previous years -- more than 10 percent. Being a part of the All A family means a lot to Bardstown folks.

I believe it is smallest 125 in the state that accept the offer to play, ie., if Covington Latin does not enter they ask the next school in line. I also believe the contracts are for 2 years, bards town may be out next year.

Yeah I do realize that...football is TOTALLY different than basketball. However, if a school plays 3A in football, they probably shouldnt be playing A in basketball.

I do no a couple of years ago Owen county got to big and had to drop out then the next year they were back in.

"A" football has nothing to do with this, as there's only 32 class A football schools. This is a tourney made up of 16 regional qualifiers, meeting to decide a champion; not a football tourney of 32 teams to determine a KSHAA Class A state championship.
