  1. Agree--Just looked at his district map and now it all comes into focus.
  2. Doubt New England is shaking in their boots watching this one?
  3. My feelings on President Obama are so mixed as he leaves? Glad to see him go in one sense, but I think he goes down as one of the great speakers (when the teleprompter is on in particular) in US political history--Dude gives a great speech, and can rouse up a crowd with the best of them. From a governing standpoint he was all I feared--Inexperienced, and too egotistical to surround himself with those of opposing thought. Hate Trump all you want, but I'll give him credit so far; he's nominated folks who are at least allowed to disagree with him or bring opposing views on issues for his Cabinet. My biggest disappointment in Obama's tenure still remains what I consider one of the biggest missed opportunities in US history--The opportunity to unite the racial & political divides in this country; and promote the example of his life story to those vulnerable youth in the minority community. As the first African American President, and a man who'd overcome a single parent upbringing with sometimes little help from his Mother; to ascend to the heights that he did, was a remarkable achievement & a testament to the opportunity this country can offer. The fact that he chose to use that opportunity to further divide us into sub-groups of Americans in search of votes; and not shout from the rooftops to those entombed in the inner cities & shackles of poverty to follow his lead & not the gospel of the gangs & rap music themes is a tragic mistake IMO. Shame on him!! I'm sure these are not the thoughts of all on here, and that's OK. While I didn't support him when elected, I was still hopeful that I might be wrong & he might actually be transformational--Unfortunately he was just another shallow politician masquerading as a change agent. :(
  4. Did I hear correctly today that this was either one of the, or the first time a sitting Senator testified against another Senator?
  5. Supposed to be a vetting of sorts for incoming cabinet appointees; but actually yet another opportunity for Congressmen/women and Senators to pontificate for hours on end before voting to confirm the appointees.
  6. Lacks experience, ego allows him to think he is smart enough to overcome an obstacle............Sounds vaguely familiar to someone who's been around for the last eight years?????
  7. Understand your concerns, but what did you expect a businessman to do other than to surround himself with proven winners & other successful people? I'll take my chances for a change with these types rather than the career politicians, cronies, etc. that Obama and many others before him have tapped to serve in these posts. Let's try some folks in charge that have run something, built something, drawn a non-governmental paycheck, employed people, met a payroll, etc.? Sick & tired of these career bureaucrats that have never done an honest days' work; and couldn't hold a job in the private sector if their lives depended on it. At least we're pretty sure they're not in it for the money?
  8. Maybe now that we have such low unemployment (even though we all know that's bull crap since they convienently don't count those who stopped looking); they don't need as many of these centers now??
  9. On the topic of this thread, I did get a chance to watch a little of this before heading out this morning. I was struck listening to Ms. Feinstein's opening comments and comparing her proclamations of how an AG is supposed to conduct his job (i.e. Not to be an extension of the President, not to view the law through a political lens, etc); and comparing in my mind how this didn't match up very much with the way Eric Holder or Loretta Lynch performed their duties?? What hypocrisy!!
  10. Pretty sure Meryl Streep just collapsed tonight, since all the Deplorables have left is football & MMA--That game had to be better than any MS movie (and then all the God references to boot)?? What a game!! Hard to dislike Dabo?
  11. Can't argue that, but it's beautiful in the right seasons; but attitudes have changed in the last few years at the borders. In the French speaking areas, they're not that fond of Americans, but then they don't like the other Canadians either??
  12. Seriously?? Do you really think he's dumb enough to leave the nukes unattended??
  13. Not sure the last time you went to Canada, but there is a "wall", just a figurative one--By the Canadians! Very interesting on that border vs. a few years ago. Why do you think Rosy, Cher, Bahar, Baldwin, Streisand, etc. are still here?? Canucks at least have some sense!!
  14. I'll be glad when Jan. 20 comes around, so Trump can actually be held accountable or praised for some of these things "he's done"; since he can't actually do squat until then, but the left is already up in arms about his "actions"!
  15. Could Megan's move to daytime, have more to do with family (her kids are like 6, 4 & 2) than staying in a nighttime slot that I'm sure she would have kept at FOX? I think her goal is to do more primetime specials, etc. vs. a regular time slot gig? Agree she's not a hard core conservative, and will likely "open up" more politically at NBC. Is still think her attack mode questioning of Trump at the first debate was a pre-planned "audition" for the mainstream networks, showing them she could not only be tough, but wasn't afraid to go where others might not go. Questions were fair, but the timing and tone were too much. She took a way too personal tone with Trump throughout the campaign--Sounded more like a jilted lover than an objective journalist.
  16. Maybe they'll tap Megan's competitor Rachel Maddow for that time slot? Would be interesting to see Rachel try & be "fair & balanced", and go on-air without calling the DNC for her talking points first?
  17. Agree--I do think that wasn't expected until her contract expired next summer I believe I read. Anyway, I agree they will be fine; with several top talents already one board. They've got two big moves to make with Carlson's old afternoon time slot open, along with the 9:00 PM Kelly show slot. Will they bring these from within, or bring on some new faces?
  18. OK, I give--The Bengals front office is the most prolific & savviest bunch of draft day traders I've seen since the Cowboys traded Herschel Walker for two Super Bowls!! My point was the Bengals rarely trade, unless a player forces their hand; or they are so confused on draft day as to who they want; that they trade down to regroup. Good news is with Marvin back and Mikey still at the helm; this mediocracy will continue (well until it doesn't--reference 2016 season).
  19. Carson wasn't a trade--He forced their hand, and they tried to salvage something from nothing. Ohco was a bail out as well. When's the last time they made a draft day move or similar?
  20. Wasn't sure if this belonged in the TV, etc. forum or here; as Fox News is such a frequent topic on here, as has been Megyn. Rumor's been out there for quite a while that she'd be leaving Fox, although I don't think it was expected to be so soon? Told a friend the day after the first Republican debate that "That question was an audition for the networks, she was on the move to one of them" after her initial question/attack on Trump. Looking like that was accurate. If she's leaving to spend more time with her family & kids as she says--Hat's off to her. Somehow I'm always skeptical of these TV type egos when they say something like that; but hoping she's sincere? Apparently turned down a $20 million contract from Fox, so either NBC ponied up big time, or she wanted out? Guessing the MSNBC, CNN crowds will have a field day with this one, as one of Fox's golden girls leaves the Den! Thoughts?
  21. "Lyin' Eyes" or "New Kid in Town", with "Peaceful Easy Feeling" close of the "oldies"--The crazy great harmonies that was their calling card! Some good ones when they reunited also, as well as many from their earlier work. Sooooooo....... many good ones!
