  1. If the Mustangs stayed focused and avoid stupid penalties, the clock should be running in the second half, with McCracken playing their JV. Henderson and Muhlenberg will probably put up scores against the 2nd string. A "50-7" halftime score would not be a shock in either contest. The only reason i have some trepidation re Henderson is the fact that they have played some tough opponents. I know Daviess played Owensboro, but Henderson always plays some tough S. Indiana programs. I am grateful that McCracken ends the season against BG. Playing an elite program like that can only help them in the playoffs.
  2. That's a fair statement Glorydays. If Henderson is not appreciably better than Daviess, give McCracken two more scores.
  3. McCracken is really playing well. While Henderson is better than Ohio Co. and Daviess Co., the Mustangs should take this one without too much difficulty. McCracken 45 Henderson 17
  4. It wasn't that close. Cash Jones sat out, but the Mustangs still scored at will. Hughes had a great game. Ohio Co. Dressed 22 kids. Is that typical for them?
  5. I'm going with "Tigers roll". Saw Madisonville play terribly against McCracken Co. earlier in the season. That's understandable, but losing to Calloway is another matter. Hoptown big!
  6. Henderson could catch them on a bad night, but that is doubtful. 1st district 6A is not that strong this year. Daviess is improved, but Henderson is down. Ohio and Muhlenburg are marginal.
  7. The Eagles travel to Paducah to take on the Mustangs! Ohio Co. has 4 wins but three were close games to less than powerhouse squads. But for a (curious?) loss to cross-town rival Tilghman, McCracken is undefeated. This one could get ugly. I'm taking the Mustangs by at least 5 TD's.
  8. Caldwell is having a strong year! They were helped in the Tilghman game with the Tornados QB going down, but they have too much firepower for the Braves, who aren't quite up to the next level.
  9. Murray is a fine team, but outside of McCracken Co., no Purchase area team can truly hang with Mayfield, with or without Bright. Good luck to both squads!
  10. This is a strong class. For most of the time since KY went to 6 classes, 3A has been the weak link. No more.
  11. Yes. These two squads have had 3 terrific games!!
  12. Great win for the Mustangs!! Makes me scratch my head about the loss to PTHS.
  13. PTHS's coach has been with them one year. That's not a huge advantage as far as being "established". Having said that, it should be a great game. Mustangs by a touchdown!
  14. As a Mustang fan, I would be happy to win a regional and thrilled to make it to the Semi's given the quality of 6A. If the new coach works out, we can talk about competing for State Championships in 5+ years.
  15. Former McCracken Co. school Lone Oak went to two finals, one in 2007 and a 2nd in 2009.
  16. I'm relieved McCracken won't have to beat MNH a third time. Tough to do against a quality team.
  17. I saw where McCracken v. Highlands will not be played today.
  18. McCracken Co. is from Region 1; specifically Paducah. If you are ever in the Jackson Purchase, you won't confuse it for Eastern Kentucky. We are as far west as you can get, without being in Missouri.
  19. I agree. This team is poised to win state. Then again, anything can happen.
  20. As you stated they beat Lexington Lafayette (#1 MaxPreps) 2-0. Beat Louisville Trinity (#5) 3-0 Beat Pleasure Ridge Park (#20) 8-4 Beat Riverdale, TN (#13 TN) 12-2 Beat Cape Girardeau Notre Dame (#10 MO) 9-2 Ballard Memorial and Marshall Co. were their main competition in the 1st Region. The Mustangs swept them. Beat Louisville Atherton and another Louisville school (I think) fairly handily. The Memphis area team that beat them is Bartlett which is ranked #2 in Tennessee. Hope that gives a better picture.
  21. The Mustangs are deep and their pitching is topnotch. Cole Womack is spectacular on the mound. No Kentucky team has beaten them. MaxPreps ranks them very high nationwide. They lost two games to a Memphis area squad. That's it!
  22. Mustangs need an attitude adjustment. These penalties are the death of them.
  23. I was thinking the same thing!! Why not play the style that got you in front in the first place!!
  24. Does anyone know if Morgan Alexander #22 will be back? He adds so much to the secondary for McCracken.
  25. McCracken beat a very fine team from Southaven, MS. That team was loaded with athletes. McCracken has very good team speed and a strong defense.
