  1. They were from the 4th Region. I actually listened to the PTHS broadcast (They are covering the whole thing) They made the same comment on both 1st round games. Their conclusion is that the 1st Region refs call too many fouls and that this crew let the boys play. Tough game to see either side lose. Mustangs' defense is phenomenal! Sivills came through big time. They can't overlook Murray.
  2. I now understand that any conflict, as Sweet16 related above, was mainly between the cheer squads. One of the parents got out of hand. The ball players conducted themselves well. A Tilghman player won the Kam Chumbler award for sportsmanship which was presented by the late Mustang players dad. It was, by all accounts, a very special presentation.
  3. Hate to hear that. McCracken and Paducah, in my heart, are one community. I understand rivalries can get out of hand, but the adults have to remain adults.
  4. I've heard (second hand) that there was some poor sportsmanship on display last night. I wasn't there, so I don't know. Can anyone confirm?
  5. Owensboro is closing out the season on a strong run!
  6. McCracken took care of Calloway last night 70-50. Some bench players got playing time in the 2nd half. Nice win!
  7. Thomas has some decent stats, but the team as a whole can't seem to break through.
  8. Very impressive win for Mustangs, doubling up on a good team from across the river. I see Region 1 coming down to McCracken, Graves or Mayfield. Marshall and Tilghman don't seem to have the right formula as we come to the end of the regular season.
  9. My thought exactly. PTHS could still turn things around in District and Region, but their underachievement is becoming chronic.
  10. Jackson Sivills turned around his performance from the first game with 30 points!
  11. From what I gather the Elliott Co. kids are a tough bunch and travel shouldn't bother them.
  12. Far East vs Far West. Mountain boys from Elliott Co. come to fight the lowlanders here in Paducah. One common opponent is Lyon Co. Elliott beat Lyon 77-61, while the Mustangs prevailed 64-37. I'm going with my Mustangs but the Lions will give them all they can handle. Hope for a great game and no injuries!
  13. McCracken lost to Bergen Catholic, the 4th ranked team in New Jersey. Mustangs actually led after first quarter. Some tough Kentucky competition coming up soon!
  14. Looking forward to that one. McCracken is my team. Love to see them take a 3rd Region 1 crown this season.
  15. PTHS performance in their Christmas tournament could be just what they need to change their early season trajectory. Mustangs can't really be considered a "Cinderella" inasmuch as they have won the Region 1 title 2 of their first 5 seasons. They figured to be in the mix this year and they should stay in the conversation for the foreseeable future.
  16. Tilghman has a lot of work to do. Radio crew commented the team looked beaten and listless late in the game.
  17. It's a fair question at first blush. But you have the same situation with Hoptown and Christian Co. playing the likes of Trigg Co. and Ft. Campbell. They're neighbors and there is the expectation of playing these games.
  18. Scratching my head over this one. Listened to it on the radio and PT wasn't getting much in the way of defensive stops, especially in the 2nd half.
