  1. Yes, Mayfield will get better. I have a lot of respect for this program. But the big take away is McCracken. They also lost key offensive players and put some youth on the field. They shut down one of the best running backs in the state. Mustangs game with Bowling Green in a few weeks will tell a lot, but this is a 6A team to watch. At least outside of Jefferson County.
  2. Big win for Mustangs 42-7. Hope this is a great sign for things to come!
  3. Mayfield can certainly win, but I see it as a closer game than 35-14. Who knows, I've been wrong before and I could be wrong again. Also, Zander Mays at receiver gives them a dimension on offense in addition to Bradley.
  4. In recent years, WPSD would televise some local games. McCracken did not participate in these telecasts the last year or so. Anyone know if that will be back this year, especially in light of Covid? This game would be perfect for a telecast.
  5. McCracken is one team that has beaten Mayfield at War Memorial in recent years regular season. That can give Mayfield revenge motivation or McCracken confidence they can compete with one of Kentucky's premier programs. I'm going with my Mustangs!
  6. Wish PTHS and McCracken could play this year. Would be a barnburner!
  7. Hope they can add PTHS back into the mix! Like Purple 88, I'm anxious to hear about RB's recovery. I regret I can't remember the young man's name, but he was awesome.
  8. Paducah's JUCO team won the national championship in 1968.
  9. McCracken and Tilghman will both be competitive. Marshall hinges on Harmon, but Stokes is a big loss. Any thoughts about Graves, Calloway or Murray?
  10. Going with the Mustangs. They have some role players really start to develop and contribute since the December match up. They know how to win close games!
  11. If GRC wins, it sets up an interesting rematch with McCracken Co. from the 1st Region. The Mustangs won the first contest by two.
  12. Some folks forget that both PTHS and McCracken lost a key player toward the end of the season.
  13. Greg is a great guy. He went to Tilghman while I was at Lone Oak. He will get them back in form.
  14. God bless you TilghmanPride! Listened to most of the game on the radio. PTHS has a fine team this year, but they seemed to have a least one quarter in big games where everything goes down the drain in a big way.
  15. Hoping for a Mustang win! First two games were close. I myself have said it's tough to beat a good team like Marshall 3 in a row, but I'd rather have McCracken up two games to none, than the other way around! Players other than Sivills and Dumas have really been stepping up to contribute.
  16. Should be a great game!! I'm looking for the Big Blue to get the job done. Would be cool to see an all Paducah final! Hopefully McCracken gets by Calloway.
  17. I've said it on other threads; McCracken got a very tough draw for a top seed. Regardless, they have to beat the best to be the best. Mayfield got a pretty sweet draw.
  18. Looking at the first round, three of the four games could be quite competitive. I don't see Fulton giving Mayfield too much of a challenge. Tilghman has a shot at redemption against a Carlisle squad that beat them early in the season.
  19. Graves has been inconsistent most of the season. Makes sense they would be inconsistent in a game.
