I absolutely hateing doing it but I voted Bush. Why? He played both ways, contributed since he was a freshman, and played multiple positions in high school on offenses all successfully.

Butler is young. They are going to take a beating, but maybe they'll get revenge a few years from now.

Ballard scares me. I think Manual will have to perform better than they have so far if they expect to win this one.

I would have to think CAL should be favored. Yes North Oldham has won a couple games, niether of thier opponets were strong programs. CAL will present a different kind of challenge than Shawnee or Atherton could provide.

When I left it was 41-14 early in the 4th. There was a mismatch between Manual's offense and Christian Co's defense as Manual drove the ball most of the night. However I think Christian Co could been more competitve on the offensive side of the ball had they played a little less complicated. Manual can't tackle, I though Christian Co would have done a lot better if they had just taken it to the Rams on simple dives and pitches. Giving the ball to so many different players and trying to pass really hurt thier ability to create momentum.

Question for those that know Christian Co. Are they known as a good team because of the talent they possess or because of the way they play the game. I know that in every case a ranked team has both going for them, but what makes Christian Co better then an unranked 5A team? Do they win more than they lose because they have "pretty good athletes" as just 4 fun put it, or because they run an unreadable spread option attack or something like that. To be clear I'm not questioning Chrisitan Co I just want to know more about them.

Maybe I'm losing my mind... but didn't the BGP polls use to be updated every Monday? Did I miss them? Were they updated? Has this changed or am I just remembering incorrectly?

Both Manual (preseason #5 in 6A) and Christian Co (Preseason #9 in 5A) are coming off important wins (Manual beat #1 3A Central, and Christian Co beat #2 3A Paducah Tighlman) for a big interclass interstate matchup at Manual Stadium for the Old Rivalry Bowl. Neither of these teams has faced each other in recent history. Manual brings a steady wishbone attack with an improved passing game, that keeps most defenses on their way backwards. They won't neccesarily run over anyone but they find the holes and get the yards. Defensively they are smuthering, not the best tacklers but good about getting in position and following the ball. In spite of Central's speed, the Yellow Jackets rarely got away from Manual's defense and got caught in the backfield a few times. Knowing very little about Christian Co, what does Manual need to watch out for?

My estimation of Central for the rest of the year. Manual LOSS 20-13 Male Probable loss Bulliet East Probable win Etown Win Western Win Shawnee Win Johnson Central I'm going to say probable win, but this is out of ignorance and stereotype, I highly doubt that JC has the speed to matchup with Central, but I say that without ever seeing JC play. Moore Win St X Loss Highlands Loss I think they will go 6-4 in a brutal regular season, They would not shock be by playing up and beating Male, X, or Highlands. BTW What a culture clash the JC game will be, I know I won't go to that game but that is one I'd like to see.

The play on the field was not as crisp as I'm accustom to from Manual, however the following may have had an effect on the game. A. It was the first game of the season. B. IT WAS HOT. C. Central may have had a lot to do with it. Neither side did anything extremely impessive, with the possible exception of Manual's defense that didn't allow Central to get into any real rythym. Offensively Manual got beat by the defensive line that penertrated all night long. This was a major detrimient to our running game. How much of this was Central's talent or how much was Manual's poor blocking is a looming question, but they clearly made it hard to run the ball. I was impressed with Central, they played clean ball and clearly have the talent to do well, even if they were in 6A. I think a fundamentally sound team can beat them in 3A, but after watching them I don't discount thier #1 ranking. They will overwhelmmost teams in there class. First time at there stadium, the atmosphere is 1000% better than it was before. They had a large and energetic crowd. Not enough seating for the vistors and dangeorusly narrow walkways were a minus, but still much better than thier old digs.

It's been a long time since Ballard had to play X. I don't think they will be prepared for the smuthering X defense. Look for X to win by keeping Ballard at bay.

Maybe as far as MHS, CHS, BG or maybe EHS.

I understand the reason perfectly, that doesn't mean the coverage is adequate. They have 1 person covering the High School sports, and some others help out for game days. This is not enough for the amount of teams in the area. I'm not saying any of them do a bad job, but the area is undercovered. But for the last point, If other teams were covered better they would have more interest in the community. With more interest in football the entire region would improve, not just at the bigger schools.

For what it is worth they had one common opponet last season, PRP. Central lost 14-7 and Manual beat them 21-14. Central also had a MUCH easier schedule than Manual. BTW I like that these teams are playing again, its good for Louisville football.

A few thing I like in Manual's favor. They run the wing T very well, now that they have a legit arm at QB and some guys who can catch, this could be an outstanding offense. The wing T can be one of the hardest offenses to read, against an undisciplined team they will roll up the points. Central has to prove under thier new coach that they can play a disciplined stye of football. I plan on attending this game and can give call to ram95 with updates.

I'm probably asking for it, but I tend to agree with this and think the score will be more of a blowout than others.

I think that Central being as high as they are is the real head scratcher. Manual should prove that next week.
