Should be a great, hard hitting game, a lot like the Manual/

Central game.

 

Both teams play a lot of kids both ways. Heyman is a receiver, the QB Langdon is also the starting D End (strong corner in Male's defense) and Justin Green is both a RB and DB for Male. Central has several as well.

 

The key I think is which O-Line is the most effective. Will Male be able to handle Central's size/strength or will Central be able to handle Male's speed and quickness.

 

One thing's for sure, there won't be a lack of athletes on the field.

 

I'm gonna say Male 27 Central 21.

Central's D-line is big and fast, Manual had a hard time running up the gut on them. If Central's defensive line can win the battle in the trenches I think the Yellowjackets have an excellent opportunity to cme out with a win here. This will be the litmus test to see how much Male drops off from last season.

I'm not sure what to expect in this game except I think it will be very competitive. Male has quite a few weapons in the backfield (Justin Green, Tim Payne, DeJuan Hobbs) and I think I read that Hobbs, the starting running back, will be back from the elbow injury he suffered in the Highlands scrimmage. I'm not quite sold on Male's passing game yet--it will be interesting to see how they do against stiffer competition. The Yellowjackets held Manual to just 6/15 passing for 100 yards and 1 interception. That is the same Manual that won every passing tournament they entered this summer. Central has had a week off to prepare for Male, so they should be rested and ready. On the other hand, Manual held Central to just 94 yards rushing on 31 carries. That's a not-too-impressive 3 yards per carry average. Male's defense is stacked to stop the run and I was fairly impressed with their defensive back play against Fairdale (didn't make it to the Seneca game). The Bulldogs also have a solid kicking game this year, which typically serves them well against a team like Central.

I say Male's speed and Redman's experience pull Male out of a potential loss.

Male has glided to two easy victories, it is difficult to tell exactly what they have, although all of Bob Redmon's teams are tough. Central took Manual to the wire in a battle that was tempered by the heat, Their first year coach took the blame for some missed opportunities. This game should be closer than Male has seen the last two games, I believe Central is loaded with athletes and has the potential to win, they just have to believe it. Central by one touchdown.

Do you not think that Central has speed? Central will match speed with speed when it comes to the skilled positions. Central will be faster up front with the big boys. This will not be an easy game for Male. Male's speed beats a lot of teams but not Central. They will have to beat Central with something else beside speed.
