Nice article for the Rams. I wish them luck.

Wow is right!

Even Nichols was surprised by being picked above St. X. Glaser tends to use this sort of thing as a hugh motivator. Hope springs eternal in the preseason.

Butler is going to have an uphill battle with a freshman QB, I only hope he has an OL to protect him as he gains experience.

I have several friends on staff at Manual and I wish them the best of Luck in 2007. Nice section in the paper but I wish they gave the same amout of coverage to all the levels that they did to the 6A schools.

RRR you don't need to sneak into the season you are Manual with a proud tradition use it. This is what the teams of the past 5-6 years have been working for the respect word, you got it, now run with it. Good luck

My playing days are long over, what bothers me is I'm tired of hearing how Manual is "overhyped" and "think they belong with the Big Three". I don't want anymore good press until we beat StX and Male and make a serious run at the championship.

That is the majority of the schools in Louisville, hence the coverage. Although I can understand what you are saying. :thumb:

Most of the Louisville schools ARE in 6-A.

Breakdown:

1-A has four teams

2-A has two teams

3-A has three teams

4-A has four, not counting the two Bullitt schools

5-A has four team

6-A has 12 teams

What's amazing is how close the rankings from the coaches in the C-J are to the BGP rankings. Some of the issues people had with the BGP rankings about certain teams can now be made with the C-J polls.

There is some disagreement in 5A with CovCath and Mercer high in the coaches poll.

Why would the Louisville newspaper give the same amount of coverage to al the other classes as 6A? What city do you think has the most 6A teams?

I was talking about the amount of coverage on the Louisville Schools....Big articles for 6A (and well deserved) but just "sound bites" for the smaller schools.

OK. Who would you rather play up: Shawnee/Moore/DeSales or St. X/Trinity/Male?

That's a no brainer to me, but that's just my opinion.

good 4-A rankings, good to see Western getting some hometown respect, they deserve it.

They really should get more though. The problem is that the C-J doesn't devote enough manpower to adequately cover the teams in the area. So what happens is the schools with mst interest get all the press. Now comes in the chicken and the egg scenario, maybe if the C-J covered the other teams more thouroghly they would get more interest, but that is another story.
