Beechwwod rings were passed out to the players on Friday. A cats paw overlayed on a red stone, bordered by 10 diamonds to represent the 10 state Titles. Players name and position on one side, and the team mantra on the other, very well done.

I thought they were cleared, punished and it was pretty much back burnered.

I can understand that, I myself lose track of meaningless moments!

Has it been determined how many of the "talented players" will be able to return with tuitions having to be paid now, this is not a smart comment, just curious about the REAL situation there.

I am talking about the Louisville playoff game, if I was talking about HC Covington, would not have been that long winded!

Last year I saw the Beechwood/Holy Cross game. They had some good size kids that matched up size wise to the Beechwood line, thats the end of it, size no football savy at all. Davis and Mainello had a field day with them. QB had some talent but no time to show it, he was running for his life all night. They need to get back to basics if they want to compete in the post season.

Beechwood returns the 2 D-1 prospects, RB/CB NiekoTiepal and DE/OG Dominic Mainello, WR/S Joe Daniels, RB/LB, Colisimo(started on D before injuryvs Cov Cath)WR Downton, TE/LB Brady Slusher, (late year starter) Matt Miller. I think thats it, there are several players that got alot of playing time last year and should fill the holes well.

As soon as I hit enter on this one I regreted it! I just knew that the ignorent comments would surface.

Tenn kids folks are moving to the area and the Fl kids already have, perhaps we should shut them down at the borders!

Yesterday was the first time I had the oppurtunity to see the 08 Tigers as a group, wow what a difference from last year, the question "wheres the beef" comes to mind. What I saw up front was a little disturbing. All I saw was Mainello,6'5" 260lb kinda hard to miss this kid, but with the Hoffmans , Bailys and Bessies of last year missing, he seems to stand alone. Talking to some of the guys on "the fence" I was comforted by the information that Miller was out, and the kid from Tenn. does not get here till summer. The speed seems to have stepped up a notch, Tiepel showed well and the new aquasition from Naples Fl looked good as well. I am sure the spirit of Tigers past will insert themselves into the mind, body and soul of the 08 Beechies as seems to happen yearly. Its just good to see them as a unit again!!:dancingpa

He is a good young player, and I stress the word young. made mistakes in the Championship game, onle time will fix. My son played accross from him, and that was his opinion. Feet out of place, stands straight up, thats where he gets beat every time. All and all though, has Div 1 written all over him. Good Luck

Good luck to Woodie, couldnt happen to a nicer guy. He came up and watched Beechwood play in the past got a chance to talk to him.

If this is true I am going to hate to see Mike go, if the ortho docs for whom he works would take 1/10 the time Mike does with those boys, we would not have the situations we have at Beechwood. We should have jumped on the oppurtunity and welcomed the Colosimo group when we had the chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know what he means, but I would say recognizable, not meaningful. And by that I mean something that resembles an offence, good "D" no "O"

Beechwood has only one returning starter on the O-line, and D-line as well, Dominic Mainello, we all know his accompishments so I wont get into that. Also they have a Jr from Tenn joining the team this year, from what I hear first class athelete, dont have his name will post when I do. With Mainello at 6'5 257, Tenn. at 6'3 250 and miller at 6'4 255 should be interesting again.

Nieko Tiepel, Beechwood. Had a huge season playing second fiddle to Bankemper, outgained the feature back! If the o-line is half what it was last year he will put up record numbers.

Has Lynn Camp put together a line this year, they got it handed to them by a team that was far from the States best, matter of fact I dont think if Dayton was evan ranked at all at the end of last year. If you plan on competing with the States elite you better bring more than Steele, alot more!

Well my friend if this was called THE GREATER COVINGTON AREA, I am sure they would feel obliged to honor all the champions in the area. This is for the boys, not a border war! Maybe we should stop spending our money in Cincy! and if were thinking that way, stop using our airport!

Beechwood is not as loaded as they have been in previous years. They still have some big names that get things done. Tiepel is the heir apparent to the running back slot, and with good reason, in a ltd role last year he put up big numbers, count on a stronger faster version this year, to back him up they have Colisimo, showed promise last year, a bit reckless but fearless as well, and a new arrival from Naples Fl. who comes to town with a tote bag full of talent. The line boasts 6'5" 260lb Dominic Mainello, All Star, All District, All State HM, what more needs to be said, Matt Miller that came on at the end of the year, and a new Jr version of Mainello, coming from Tn. with All District and All Star credentials of his own, big fast and mean! Receivers we lost Amalong, but still looking good with Slusher, Daniels, and Downton, D loses some big names but there was a few waiting in the wings. QB still up in the air . Three talented kids, one will make the leap. All in all should have the talent to get to the dance this year as well.
