QB Pfeiffer and RB Rice have withdrawn from Trinity. I am not sure of the next school for each young man.

And word is another QB (not named Turner) is also transferring in to CAL.

Coach Spader and his staff do such a nice job. Steady as she goes. Year in and year out. 2025 will be another exciting year for the Purples.

I think it seems clear that Coach Wallace wanted the announcement to come from him directly to the media without St. X playing a role in presenting this news. The President at St. X seemed very much “reactive” once the news was out via the media. But again, nothing to see at Poplar Level Road.

Strange that St. X did not report this first as the “official” announcement. Seems they are playing catch up.

Coach Brown had several losing seasons recently at North Oldham. In fact, he never had a winning season there. Check the records and the scores from his teams there. They were blown out of game after game. And that was in class 4A. Imagine stepping up to 6A with Godzilla in your district.

Why doesn’t the Fayette County School Board get more involved in the imbalance of football players at FD and Bryan Station compared with TC, Henry Clay, Lafayette and Dunbar? Kids are openly “taking their talents” to FD and BS. The School Board steps in and requires the Fayette County public high schools to play one another in the regular season but then turns a blind eye to the disparity in roster builds. They are enabling the haves and the have nots.

Do they have an outside shot at bringing Blake Powers back to KY? That would be an incredible hire.

Yes. Many families received the “attachment” rating players in various sports that St. X wants to enroll. One family shared it. Here is an example taken directly from the attachment. Yes. I recall some of the Rocks fans jumping off the bandwagon after a few games and then wanting back on board after the 12 game winning streak and state championship. Fair weather fans for sure.

Interesting decision by Coach Morton. He did a very good job at Ballard. But Eastern, wow. They are clearly at the bottom of their district (along with Ballard, Oldham County and Trinity). In fact, I believe they won only 1 district game in the last 5 years. He is taking on a very real challenge. Much worse than what he inherited at Ballard.

The KHSAA REALLY needs to implement a promotion/relagation process. Relying solely on the number of boys in the school for classification is so outdated. Eastern is a perfect candidate for relegation to 5A with the likes of Bullitt Central, Jeffersontown, Seneca and Atherton. Schools like this need a “cycle or two” in a lower class to reboot their program and then get promoted back to the higher class as the program becomes stronger.

The Tiger round 2 losses to Ryle and Trinity were blowouts. I doubt the St. X faithful enjoy the idea they are propelling other schools toward the championship game.

I took the Big 3, plus 3 others, and compared them the last 4 years (post COVID shortened year of 2020) Overall record followed by how they finished during the playoffs. Reminder…. Not all regular season strength of schedules are the same. Judge for yourselves. -Male: 43 wins, 11 losses. Two state runner ups, one round 3, one round 2. -St. Xavier: 39 wins, 12 losses. One state champ, three round 2’s. -Trinity: 39 wins, 18 losses. Two state champs, one state semis, one round 3. -Frederick Douglass (only two years in 6A): 17 wins, 10 losses. Two state semis. -Manual: 36 wins, 12 losses. Four round 2’s. -Ryle: 35 wins, 18 losses. One state runner up. Two round 3’s. One round 2.

With Wheeler back what schools will Butler potentially “pull kids away from”? Male, Manual, Ballard, Central? It seems that kids move around the JCPS system quite often, in football and basketball.
