Coach Morton is on a very short list of active coaches in Kentucky who have a win over Trinity on his resume. Great hire by Eastern!

Chris Wolfe at Male, Kevin Wallace at St. Xavier, Phillip Hawkins at Bryan Station, Nate McPeek at Frederick Douglass....I don't think there's anyone else out there right now in the Bluegrass State. So that would make Adrian Morton 1 of 5 Kentucky football coaches that have gotten a win over Trinity.

Good hire for the Eagles. Morton did a good job at Ballard. Can he help bring another JCPS 6A school back to a higher level of competitiveness?

Morton led Ballard to double digit wins each of his last two seasons as the head man of the Bruins in 2022 and 2023. A combined 21-7 in those two years alone with wins over Male, Trinity, and Manual.

Interesting decision by Coach Morton. He did a very good job at Ballard. But Eastern, wow. They are clearly at the bottom of their district (along with Ballard, Oldham County and Trinity). In fact, I believe they won only 1 district game in the last 5 years. He is taking on a very real challenge. Much worse than what he inherited at Ballard.

In this episode, we talked about the challenges of building a program at Ballard. That experience will serve him well at Eastern.

We also talked about their 2022 upset of Male. Saw that one in person.  Great game!
