The Rocks have been biting championship trophies for as long as I can remember (or at least in the Beatty era, maybe longer). The reasoning I have heard goes back to Olympic games. Back "in the day" Olympic gold winners would bite their medals to make sure they were real gold.

Just so everyone is clear, future students at T and X do not take an entrance exam. It is a placement test, meaning it is given to aid in the assignment of students to the appropriate academic level.

I disagree. I think it is attributed to both their entire programs! From the top down; players, coaches, parents, alumni, student body, school administration, water boys/girls, trainers, etc, etc, etc. Truly complete programs! What's the old saying, it takes a village to raise a child? or something like that!

Only male enrollment is counted in football classification! :thumb:

I think the good people at Eastern might not agree with this! But that's your opinion, so cool. I will say, SK represented themselves very well on Saturday. Congrats on a terrific run!

After watching the replay of the SK/Male game, I would say Trinity has a huge advantage in the kicking game. SK used a lot of squib kicks on kick offs (probably to avoid Green). I could see them using this same tactic with Phillips/Melillo and Co. I could also see Trinity blocking a punt tonight, not b/c of protection, but b/c of the quality of long snaps. It just seemed like forever to get the punt off. And obviously Robertson for Trinity is a huge weapon. I could see the Rocks gaining 30 yards of field position per special teams play. JMO

Congratulations Central and to Chris King especially! It's good to see you succeed at the QB position. Simply put, you are a winner!

With all due respect, I wouldn't exactly call the offensive strategy used by Boone County in '94 innovative. Both teams (BC-SK) run/ran the ball effectively, but SK has a completely different philosophy on how to do it. JMO

If that's true about Wes, then that's too bad. I talked with him before the T/X game and it sounded as if things were going well for him. In fact he said the offensive staff wanted to move him to FB, but the defense wouldn't give him up. Pretty encouraging if you ask me!

The Rocks have two more games left on the schedule... Saturday, Nov. 1st Scott County 11:00am Thursday, Nov. 6th Central 5:30pm Both games are at home.

Trinity rebounded from an OT loss at home to Moeller and defeated Elder at "The Pitt" yesterday! The Rock defense lead the way forcing 4 turnovers, returning one interception for touchdown by Turney Sugg. Offensively, they used a strong running attack and timely passing to control the ball game. Nice win Rocks versus the GCL freshmen champs!

Frosh Rocks went on the road last night and avenged a home loss to the Knights from a year ago, improving their record to 3-0. Mitchell Cunningham led the way, throwing three TD passes. Jackson Noe also got quality time at QB, adding another TD pass. Scoring for the Rocks was Roger Johnson and Garrett Sauer, both with rushing TD's and Chase Swabek, Andrew Wall, Jacob Hollenbach, and Jimmy Morley, all with TD receptions.

From what I heard, and I could be wrong, the Central game was moved to the end of the season. Evansville Reitz cancelled b/c of schedule conflict (mix up in their athletic office), then obviously the PRP game was cancelled. They scheduled Floyd Central and Providence to fill in the gaps. Providence then cancelled.:confused:

No one had posted anything, so I thought I would... After a couple of weeks of not playing due to cancellations the freshman Rocks faced the Floyd Central (IN) JV's on Monday, winning 14-0. The Rock defense was stifling. Offensively, they were lead by touchdown passes by Mitchell Cunningham and Jackson Noe, both to WR Nathan Stein. The Rocks are in action again Thursday at home versus Butler. Game time is 5:30pm.

I would say 20 of 22 is not accurate. Kragthorpe (QB), Nix (WR), Steffey (WR), Smith (WR), Tencza (RB), Meyer (DB) all started for the Rocks, and are all sophomores. I know, that's only 6 of 22, those are just the ones I know about.

30-0 Trinity w/ about 3 minutes to go in the half according to a friend at the game. That was an hour ago. Haven't heard anything lately.

I'm very excited for Timmy! I was impressed with what he said in the paper, how CM really emphasized life after football. Amazing perspective for a 17 year old. Congratulations Timmy!

Could any of you tell me the name of the young RB for Boyle? I believe he started the season on the freshman squad but eventually saw quite a bit of varsity action. Big kid, very difficult to bring down.

Anyone travel down to UofL for the state meet? Any news? I'm specifically interested in the 3A boys, but all are welcome. Also, before anyone gives me a link to the KHSAA, I've already been there. They only list the lane assignments for the day. Thanks!

Tell me more about this Holloway kid. Sounds like he's got some serious tools. Why haven't I heard about him before?

Cameron Smyth only started the final game as a freshman for the Rocks, I believe. Sean Carrico (now TE) was the starter for most of the season, with Cameron seeing quite a few minutes.
