The Double Deuce
Saw this last night and it jumped off the page at me, thought I'd share. The Billikens of Saint Louis University, coached by legendary good-guy (HEAVY sarcasm) Travis Ford, are shooting 54.7% from the foul line. If that holds, they'll finish with the 2nd worst team FT percentage in the last 20 years, just narrowly bettering the 2012 sharp-shooters from Prairie View A&M, who finished the year at 54.2%. The Double Deuce
On the flip-side, Pepperdine leads the country from the FT line as a team, shooting an equally unbelievable 84.6%. If that holds (it can't, right?), they'll shatter the best team FT percentage since the turn of the century, currently held by 2011 Wisconsin (big shocker, right?) who shot 81.8%. The Double Deuce
One more, for our resident good guy, and Randy Parker antagonist, @Getslow. Dayton is currently shooting 62.8% on two-point FG attempts, if that were to hold for the year, it would easily be the highest percentage shot from inside the arc this century. 2018 Belmont has the record currently at 61.7%.
