Canadians 4 Lightning 2 (NHL)

Recommended Posts

The Bolts drop one to an inspired team and crowd in Montreal.

After Steven Stamkos directed the puck off Max Domi's skate and into the Montreal goal, it looked like might be another coaster for Tampa Bay. Montreal tied it up before the end of the 1st period.

Cedric Paquette redirected a shot from Adam Erne past Carey Price to give the Lightning a 2-1 lead. From there on out, it was all Montreal. Joel Armia tied it with 12 1/2 to go in the 2nd and the period ended that way, 2-2. Eddie Pasquale did well through the first 2 periods, stopping 35 shots, as the Bolts defense was nowhere to be found.

In the third, the Bolts improved the defense, allowing only 10 shots on goal. However, the Habs were desperate and played like it.

I'm only upset, because they kept the Canadians in the hunt for the final playoff spot.

Tampa Bay has lost 3 of it's last 5. Not a good sign going into the playoffs.

Missed this one. @swamprat, is there a reason Domingue didn't play?

Lower body injury. Louis is day-to-day.

Victor Hedman is out, too. He went out in the first period of the Washington game, last Saturday night, after taking a hit to the chin. The organization is calling it an Upper Body Injury, but he did not have go through the concussion protocol after being removed from the game. He probably won't play in the remaining 2 games, though.

Anton Stralman was back on the ice for the Montreal game. Dan Girardi has been out since March 10. Cooper indicated he would be on this road trip, but Dan has not seen any ice time, yet.

It's not a great time for the injury bug to hit.
