I feel sorry for you that you can't let this go. Everyone won't agree, that is our right to have our own opinion. Obviously! Those of us with public school background may have a different feeling than you will on this. Simply because for the most part, we find out who our teacher is, pay our school fees which never went over $150 per year, then that was it. It wasn't our worry that the school would not have enough for simple items they may need like books, or have enough volunteers to help throughout the year, or have a facility that consists of many buildings built over a number of years all hodge-podged together lacking any type of true entrance leaving people confused on how to even get into the building. I know what you're going through. I have family that went there and still very close to the school. I have seen the schematics for the new theater, entrance, chapel, etc. it looks great. I just think that the idea of a football program was sold without the entire explanation of truly how much it costs. Please don't take all the posts on here so personal. It is not directed at you personally.

I like the Beer Garden comment, but I don't think this is true. I believe I remember Beechwood playing NCC down there the first year the Turf was in place. Hopefully an NCC person can confirm.

Reading the back and forth between Bishop Brossart parents and CC parents is really entertaining.

 

Maybe to solve the problem, CC can donate the turf to Cooper for their football field and we'll let all 3 schools play there

Maybe CC can donate the old field at the middle school to Brossart and let them use the soon to be old Vocational school as their locker rooms, weight room, and indoor practice facility. Just think, the field and that building are old enough that they are replacing them so they could just donate them as-is and then BBHS can see what it really costs to have a football program and have to spend the money to rehab a facility and to do the upkeep on the field. Honestly, based on their size and the size of their gym, they don't even need to replace the upper stands that are in disrepair. Just tear them down. This really could be a great opportunity. I personally just think they don't realize how much goes into having your own facilities and maybe it's time they did. I bet Mustang would cut the grass for free. If you get a riding mower, I'll come do it for free as long as you have a cup holder for my cool refreshments.

Me too. Had some bad memories for me. But loved it nonetheless. Older stadiums have some "charm" and "mystique" that is usually missing in the newer, almost sterile, stadiums. Thought it was cool that the existing stadium was largely built by volunteers.

 

But it does make sense to have the football field near the high school as opposed to what is now the middle school.

I think they do understand better than some CC supporters because anything done at BBHS is paid for by donations not TAX money collected from EVERYONE including BBHS parents that live in CC. Also if they would like to donate their old field I am sure BBHS would love to have it since.

For having a gym that in the CC volleyballs coaches eyes is and I quote "a dump" (said during a match this year) they turn out a pretty good product year after year and there (BBHS) record speaks for itself.

Like my family for example: we go to church and we go to church fundraisers and we put money in the extra collections, etc. Our church's school is a stewardship school and a percentage of the money we pay goes to the school for kids of those parents who choose not to send their kids to public school. How many other parishes have a portion of their collection baskets utilized for their attached school? Funds have been a little short lately and it seems like every other week they are bringing up the school and asking for extra donations. Do I have a right to be upset? Not if I want to stay married. So I keep my mouth shut and keep paying to help educate these kids at a private school on top of my taxes for the public school. I am not asking for any extra from the church in return and I honestly don't think the school should ask the public either. My point is that BBHS has to do this on their own and they need to establish a separate football booster club along with encouraging the elementary catholic schools to get a team involved. They could play against the Campbell County Youth League or play some games against FTJFL if they wanted. In order to grow, you must get kids interested sooner. By the time they reach high school they've probably already established a sport they are good at. I have nothing against Brossart but started this after being attacked on a PM by an avid Brossart who took one piece of post out of context so I decided to discuss a little more on here.
