Went up and checked the field out again today. 3/4 of the field has all drainage hooked up and black membrane down. Close to 1/2 the field has gravel on it. 2 days, and they should have it ready for turf. I don't know when the turf is scheduled, but they are moving along at a pretty fast pace.

I heard the turf company (Motz) was up at the high school Monday and what I had heard (not written in stone) the turf could be laid in about a week or so. It is now starting to look like a stadium!

I'm not sure who it is making the claims for entitlements for Brossart to use the new Campbell County field, or if they are even actually Brossart parents/fans, but neither the general majority of Brossart people nor the Brossart administration lay any claim whatsoever to anything owned or built by Campbell County. We are two separate and independent entities. Campbell County provides our school bus service. For that I'm sure we are grateful.

 

Congratulations to Campbell County on their new facility! I'm sure that if our program would eventually grow and develop into a competitive entity, that there will be times that we would get to play there - bowl games, classics, etc.. Right now with Campbell County vacating Bob Miller stadium we should probably be working on an arrangement to play our games there on Friday or Saturday nights, giving us a better sense of a "home field." However, our experinces at Scott and previously Newport, have been extremely accomodating, allowing our team to play under excellent conditons and on a turf field. IF Campbell County would offer up their new digs for the Mustangs to use on nights opposite the Camels, under a similar arrangement that we presently have with Scott, I'm sure it would be considered, but none of us with reasonable intelligence are making unreasonable demands on Campbell County to give us something just because our tax dollars assisted in building their facilities. Yes, we did forfeit that right when choosing Brossart.

Listening to the tone above in some of the posts it is pretty easy to hear. If you don't hear it you are not reading the same posts I am. It is either you are with us (public Schools) or hell with you. You made your decision. What would CCHS do if Brossart closed their doors and 450 kids showed up at there door??? Be glad private schools take some of the burden off public schools. Do you know the expense they would have with all the extra kids just in teachers and facilities. They could not afford it.

Because it is a 1A school that is not very good playing a 6A school that would beat them like a tied up goat. Getting beat by 70 points is not good for anyone except the offensive stats for the Winning team.

It wouldn't bother me a bit if CC refused to let them use it. You can't have separation of church and state and then demand things that you knowingly gave up by choosing church over state.

I feel sorry for you that you can't let this go. Everyone won't agree, that is our right to have our own opinion. Obviously! Those of us with public school background may have a different feeling than you will on this. Simply because for the most part, we find out who our teacher is, pay our school fees which never went over $150 per year, then that was it. It wasn't our worry that the school would not have enough for simple items they may need like books, or have enough volunteers to help throughout the year, or have a facility that consists of many buildings built over a number of years all hodge-podged together lacking any type of true entrance leaving people confused on how to even get into the building. I know what you're going through. I have family that went there and still very close to the school. I have seen the schematics for the new theater, entrance, chapel, etc. it looks great. I just think that the idea of a football program was sold without the entire explanation of truly how much it costs. Please don't take all the posts on here so personal. It is not directed at you personally.

I thought I remember the first year of Newport's new turf. They increased the rental rate and NCC had to walk away. I think they ended up going to Thomas More to play games that year? Nothing like watching an NCC game from the beer garden.

I like the Beer Garden comment, but I don't think this is true. I believe I remember Beechwood playing NCC down there the first year the Turf was in place. Hopefully an NCC person can confirm.
