Kentucky 65 Tennessee 62

I can't remember a times when I have seen more change calls called. UK actually got a change on defense. I don't remember how many they have had this year but it hasn't been many. Offensively they probably average about 5 on the road.

And yet Kentucky is still 17-1, 3-0 in the SEC and 2-0 on the road in league. Why does it matter if they are tested pre-conference or in conference? This team has bigger fish to fry than a regular season SEC championship.

You don't think the rest of the SEC is licking its chops for when Kentucky visits after how they've been exposed the past two games? They have shown they are quite ordinary on the road, despite having a gross talent advantage over the opposition. If you take your lumps early on the road, you're a tougher team down the stretch, and how a team finishes is far more important than how it starts in terms of NCAA seeding.

Congratulations to the poster who took post #6 in the poll. :D

Hey -- If I'm suffering, everybody should. I'm happy to be the turd in the punchbowl. :D

The block/charging calls in college basketball are horrible. The defense almost always gets the benefit of the doubt and to me it should be the opposite.Nice win by this young team. It was ugly, but I like the way they closed it out. They took control and finished the deal.

:thumb: Bold is spot on. IMO the defender should be planted and not moving laterally nor forward into the offensive player to create the contact. It is that lateral slide of the body by the defender creating contact that gets called a charge way too often in college.

And the times that the offensive player kicks his leg out to draw contact when shooting a jump shot, they always call it on the defender who goes straight up.

Where'd you go in the other thread Jim?

True, especially on the 3 pointer as a defender jumps past him on the side.

Sloppy game. Davis and MKG saved us.

Stokes is going to be very, very good.

I think Teague just got called for another charge.

6 more chances...Florida, Vandy, South Carolina, Georgia, LSU and Miss St. I think they go 4-2

Start this argument after a loss next time and you might get your intended results. As of now, Kentucky has one loss on the season and it happened on a buzzer beater.

As long as they are winning, it doesn't matter.

Last years UK team played two road games agaisnt very good team in non conference in UNC, and UL. Which probably are two tougher road games than most teams ever play in non conference. How well did it help them out when it came to the conference on the road last year? Even though they played a few tough road non conference games against good competition, they still went 2-6 on the road last year. With your thinking they should have done much better.

Also your theory seems to suggest that playing at neutral sites does not help teams. Well last years teams also played a lot of neutral site games in non conference too. Well that experienced helped them even more as seen, because of how well they did in tournaments. Such as the SEC tournament and NCAA tournament. So seems to me that playing neutral site games helps out even more for the bigger picture and that is tournament play. It's really kind of funny that you talk about UK's schedule. When in most years they probably play more neutral and tougher road games than most top teams do in non conference.

His argument was destroyed in that thread. He's hoping it gets buried under new threads.

Miller continues to disappoint. That young man is impossible to figure out. I think the officials will now call a charge not matter what as long as the defender is set up outside the little circle.

Miller was one of the reasons why they beat Auburn, and he was the one that sealed the game today. Yes we all wish he could always play with the flashes of brillance that he shows at times. However he is just not that type of player, he is the type of player we need on a team like this. Just like he was the type of player we needed on the John Wall team, and last years. A guy who will play within the team, and not try to do to much like some of the freshman try to do. Sometimes it is to a fault, because he does need to be more aggressive at times. As a whole this team does not have really any offensive flow this year, they are they still trying to figure it out.

I know one thing is for sure, Miller is the guy I want at the line when we have to make free throws at the end of a game. Lamb has struggled with that on making big free throws at the end of the game on the road.

I've stopped trying to understand hoW the block/charge call is enforced across college basketball. I just now go in with the expectation that it will be a charge, and if it goes the other way then it is a gift.
