Kentucky 65 Tennessee 62

If Kentucky is the "greatest program in college basketball," it should be forging its own path and forcing others to follow its lead.
Why when there is evidence not doing that works? You don't do something stupid just to be different. Your argument is ridiculous.

UK's lack of mental toughness is based more on age then on schedule. To say last years team was dripping of talent is a questionable argument as well .

Kentucky's not winning national championships! That says they need to do something different than everyone else.

And who says it has to be a MAC team? Why not a Gonzaga, a Butler, a Xavier? Why not a home-and-home with a Virginia or West Virginia? Maybe a Pac 10 team? The bottom line is Kentucky sucked on the road last year, and I'm of the opinion that had they been better challenged early in the season, they wouldn't have gone 2-6 in conference, would have gotten a better seed and possibly even won it all. Lord knows they had more talent than anyone else; they were just seriously deficient in the mental toughness department.

Last year they were not the most talented team in the country. Getting a better seed would not have mattered anyways, since they ended up making the final four anyways and took out two of the top teams in the country in the process. Yes they sucked on the road, however they were much better at neutral sites and it showed come tournament time. Most years they will be talented enough to win on the road still, last year they were not. However it didn't matter because the tounament is at a neutral site.

It is forging its own path, having one of the toughest non conference schedules for bigger schools. Having the likes of UNC, UL, now IU being back is a good one to have, then they also usually have some tournament or neutral sites games against good competition too. Not to mention they have the SEC/Big East Challege and the champions game or whatever it is called at Madison Square Garden when they played a top ten team in Kansas. Next year they have Duke, the year after that its Michigan State. UK plays a good mixture of road and neutral site games, while most top programs never leave their state. That is why it would be good to get the UNC game reworked out so they don't have both UL/UNC at home in the same year. This way you know every year you have one of those two on the road, then also IU who is coming back now too on the road every other year.

I know the main reason your doing this is to try to stir up us UK fans, and I give you credit you have done a good job with it lol. However your arguments are very weak, considering UK does play a tougher schedule of non conference games than most top schools do. More games on the road, and at neutral sites. Insteading of staying at home all the time like Syracuse and just make money off home games and not challenge theirselves.

I hate reading post game threads now. They all get turned into a page long argument about the schedule and little or no talk about the actual game.

The easy answer to that is for everyone to let Jim play in his own pigpen. His whole argument has been proven false so no need to continue engaging in it.

I heard on the radio that the ref that called the T on Cal worked a game last night. The radio guys were questioning why a ref works a Friday night game and then a noon game the next day. Does that happen often?

Was it a HS game???

I think they said it was the S. Florida game but I may have misheard them.

Its getting hard to do now that he brings it into every single results thread that isn't a blowout road win.

Close win on the road "It wouldn't have been so close if they played 87 OOC road games!"

Loss on the road "They only played 5 of the top 10 teams on the road pre conference. If they had played 7 of 10, they would have won this game."

You don't think the rest of the SEC is licking its chops for when Kentucky visits after how they've been exposed the past two games? They have shown they are quite ordinary on the road, despite having a gross talent advantage over the opposition. If you take your lumps early on the road, you're a tougher team down the stretch, and how a team finishes is far more important than how it starts in terms of NCAA seeding.

Many lick their chops because they know they will finally have a sellout.

I agree. Sure would be nice to be able to talk and read about what happen in the game.

Jim Schue, be nice if you kept your arguement in one thread that was specifically for that instead of threadjacking these.

I've done it twice, and only because of the great reception from the other thread. For Chrissakes, lighten up, boys.

Create a thread to talk about it then.
