I would not be surprised to see a 1-2 combo with Davis and MKG going in that order in the draft. Davis is still very raw and yet still dominating, MKG is just an athlete and will continue to improve for years to come. I would much rather they both came back lol.

The officiating ruined what really could have been a great game. Love MKG. What was up with Miller today?

 

My UL friend complains that UK won because the officials gave them so many shots at the FT...he doesn't consider the huge difference in rebounding that big of a deal.

+26 on the boards is alarming. There was a ft disparity, sure. But it is not as if UL did not take their share from the ft line.

UK under Pitino played the same type of D. Go back and watch the press and traps from those days...total hack fest.

I see him as a stat stuffer in the pros. Maybe a few triple doubles.

The fouls fueled the rebounding disparity. They're the same issue. If Chane and Gorgui play their normal minutes and Louisville gets devastated on the boards, then I freak out, but there isn't any conclusion I can draw from that game other than if every Louisville frontcourt player gets in foul trouble, they won't rebound well.

I thought that MKG was terrific on both ends and made shots and carried UK on offense.

I thought in the second half, Davis owned the paint and totally neutralized UL's pick and roll. Siva was not able to do anything at the basket in the second half, nor was anyone else.

Miller despite his 8 turns, and some were not necessarily his fault...did a really nice job on Kuric.

MKG is improving his NBA stock while T. Jones is losing ground/money, I think. I don't know if "soft" is the right word, but TJ sure doesn't want to bang much down low. Neither UK nor UL seems to have a go-to guy (like Knight and Knowles last year) but I do not know whether it is a requirement to have one. UL has very poor outside shooting. Unfortunately for UL, Siva is playing like Sosa. What is ailing him?

Listened to the radio after leaving Rupp yesterday, and this was the first time I ever thought Calipari said something that wouldn't sit very well with the fans. I think he was trying to sell the idea of ending some of the regular series UK plays. But his comments were somewhere along the lines of the game against Louisville isn't a big deal in any way and doesn't matter much to the players since they aren't from Kentucky. He went on to say the only people that really benefit from this rivalry, that the fans make too big a deal about, is the scalpers.

Sure, but as a UK fan would you want the Louisville game to end? Especially at a point where you feel like you will win it every year?

I think Cal's point is that he is trying to take the edge off of the game. I do not think they will be dropping the series at all. I have heard they would like the UNC and UL games to be opposite venues, such as one game on road and one at home rather than it being both on road or at home during the same year.

That may coincide with UNC being off schedule for a year, plus IU going to Indy and Louisville.

Cal did say at end of his preaching that "it is really nice to win this game though" or something to that effect.

Don't forget that Davis sat out the majority of the first half as well with foul trouble.
