December 23, 201114 yr ASU was just poorly coached....not that I think it'll get better with Pitt's coach. Too many athletes, to constantly be making stupid mistakes. I agree. They should have been a Pac 12 contender this year with the athletes they had. Very disappointing season for the Devils.

December 23, 201114 yr What "great" teams has Peterson defeated and who are his losses to?Their bowl game record is pretty good, and they did go on the road and beat the team that won the SEC East, for what it's worth.
December 23, 201114 yr Author I thought I heard them say during the game that Boise hadn't lost to a school from a BCS conference in Peterson's six years; but I may have misheard. The big game that put him/them on the map was the classic win over Oklahoma his first year there.
December 23, 201114 yr None of those teams you mentioned are deserving. The BCS without Arkansas is problem #1. No one is taking up for the BCS but to act like because Boise State beat UGA that they are deserving of a BCS bid is faulty also. Who did they lose to that cost them a bid? TCU? Sounds like Boise screwed the selves out of a BCS bid to me. Boise State is garbage and now that they are in the Big East their garbageness will be proven in due time. Of course, they won't be as good next season. Kellen Moore played his final game last night.
December 23, 201114 yr There is only one bowl that matters and that is the one LSU and Bama are playing in. At the end of the day I don't care about the other bowls and I look forward to the day when Boise State plays some true top 5 teams and get exposed like Tim Tebow. The funny thing is your talk about how they need to play a true top 5 team, but guess what? They would have played true top 5 teams for the last 3 years if those teams could have beaten Boise. If Oregon beats Boise three years ago when Blount punches a guy after the game, Oregon ends up being a top 5 team that year. Virginia Tech if they beat boise last year, they end up being a top 5 team that year. The only reason why Georgia was not a top 5 team this year was because guess what? They lost to Boise. If they had beaten Boise that day, then Georgia would have been playing for a shot at the National Championship game when they had played LSU. So they have played teams that would have been top 5 teams, but guess what those teams couldn't even beat Boise. So to say they are garbage is wrong. If you want to say they never been deserving of a Title shot then I could buy that a little bit. However to act like they have not been a top 10 team for the last three years is wrong. Which I think they would have shown that again if they got to play Okl St, Stanford, Oregon or Wisconsin. However that makes these true BCS schools look bad when they lose to teams like Boise. Just like when TCU beat Wisconsin last year. That is the same reason why they put Boise and TCU in the same BCS bowl two years ago, so those teams wouldn't get the shot to knock off the big schools. Now next year when they probably struggle you will come out and see told you they were garbage, and you still would be wrong. Boise is not a team that probably is going to sustain being a top team. They were able to put the right pieces together and had a GREAT college QB in Moore. So with him the last three years they have been a top 10 team. With him gone and some other key players being gone, they won't be any longer. They probably won't even be a legit top 25 team.
December 23, 201114 yr Boise doesn't deserve a BCS bid soley on the fact that they have that awful blue turf.

I think Boise proved themselves on a national level in the '07 Fiesta Bowl which was prior to Moore's arrival. One of the best games I've ever seen and OU did have a running back with the initials AP. They held him to 77 yards on 20 carries that evening. Plenty of talent on the west coast for them to vulture from their Pac 12 counterparts.
December 24, 201114 yr Boise not deserving? Are you kidding? They've beaten every team from a BCS conference that they've played since Peterson has been there. The list includes Oregon, Virginia Tech, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Their only loss this year came to TCU. TCU won the ROSE BOWL last year and finished 18th this year. Had they been 16th they would have been in the BCS this year. If Boise wins that game they are playing for the national championship vs LSU and thats a fact.
December 24, 201114 yr To make Boise State play against a bad 6-6 ASU team is just wrong. They deserved a better bowl with a competitive opponent.
December 24, 201114 yr To each his own. Oklahoma was ranked 7th that year and had 2 losses coming into that game. It wasn't like it was one of the great Oklahoma teams. Did they deserve a better opponent? Sure. Do I think this year's version with Kellen Moore could have defeated one of the teams I mentioned? No. When they join the Big East they will get their BCS game then. If they go undefeated they may get a shot at a title game then. How they do then will not affect my feelings today. As I said, I don't believe the hype. Never have.

December 24, 201114 yr PP92 you are just totally in the minority on this one, face it. It's okay, just saying. You don't buy it, most others do. It's cool.
December 24, 201114 yr Author To make Boise State play against a bad 6-6 ASU team is just wrong. They deserved a better bowl with a competitive opponent. Exactly. The only reason they didn't is the good ole' boy system/money.
