No I don't think that. However there is something even more simple about, and that opinions mean NOTHING! We should not determine who should have a shot to compete for the title based on opinion. Yes Bama is probably better, but none of us knows for sure who would win unless they played it on the field. That is the one thing about sports, opinions are not fact and a lot of opinions usually get proven wrong.

"A lot of opinions usually get proven wrong." What does that mean? Is that like 60% of the time--it works every time?

I think it would be similar to the Florida/OU game a few years ago. OU was just as good or better offensively and Bama's defense is better than Florida's that season, IMO. I think Bama could control the clock and take OSU out of their comfort zone.

I think people are really selling that UF defense short. It was better than either defense this year IMO. Playmakers all over the place. Stats may not back it up but that was the 3rd best defense I've seen in my lifetime on the college level, and noone is touching #1 or #2. For the college level, that secondary was filthy. Spikes was a better LB in college than anyone on either team IMO. The DL was better than either teams IMO. Also, I feel that OU teams offense was better than anyone going this year, and stats do back that up.

 

But back to the question. Who knows? If OSU & Bama played, I think anyone would be crazy to think the Cowboys couldn't win. If they played a series then maybe they couldn't, but the third best team in the country is capable of beating Alabama.

I'd definitely take Bama. But, they already had their shot at LSU and couldn't get it done.

I get tired of hearing that argument. Oklahoma State had their shot too, but they lost to Iowa State. That loss is a lot worse than Bama losing to LSU.

LSU has to sweep Alabama to win the NC. Alabama only has to split with LSU to win it. Do we have people agree that this is fair?

Not true. Alabama got to the title game by winning every other game they played. If you want to say they won by losing, then say they won the title game bid by everyone else losing.

You don't think Alabama won a huge advantage by losing that game? That they got to sit at home during the week conferences were playing championship games and get a do-over with a team that already beat them?
