How so? All it proved was that LSU could be beat, and how LSU on offense only has a running game with Jefferson at QB.
Any team can be beat.

Funny, but no one was making that argument aside from Alabama. The Tide's defense is that good.

The team that won its division, its conference, and the only team to be undefeated all year long, loses one game and that team ends up being the National Champion. Even though they had to do nothing else really after losing to LSU the first time to get a chance to play them again
Their resume earned them the spot in the national title game, including the thumping of Arkansas, and Auburn, and ...

I do think Bama is the best team in the nation, but I still hate how college football ends it's season and how it crowns it champion.
We all do ... but when the system we have in place is supposed to deliver the two best teams, this year it did it's job. None of us still like it, however.

I would say the Oklahoma State argument took a major hit tonight ...

Especially since most people were arguing that Oklahoma St. should have been in the game instead of Alabama. Despite the fact that LSU won the regular season matchup, if your honest about it Alabama outplayed them that game. How often does a team miss 4 FG? Alabama's defense only gave up like 9TD all season. What really makes anyone think that Oklahoma State could light them up. Furthermore I would love to see Oklahoma States defense try to contain Richardson and Lacy. Let's face it if not for LSU having NFL calibre athletes all over the field on defense, tonight game could have been 50-0.

ROLL TIDE! and tonight they did! And to answer your question in your original post Clyde. NO!

LSU was the best season all year long, however all it took was one game for someone else to be the Champion.

Kinda like the NY Giants over the Patriots a few years ago.

Pats undefeated going into the big game...Had beaten the Giants earlier in the year and when it came down to it, the Pats couldn't get it done.

I hear a lot of arguments about the BCS, but it is better than what we used to have which was simply a vote. Atleast we get to see a game between the best 2 teams. Don't forget that the National Champ used to be crowned before the bowl games.

No most years it does leave a lot of room for doubt if the two best teams were really in it. In my opinion just like most people Bama and LSU were in it, and since Bama won it. It just makes people think even more that they were right. However we have no idea if maybe OSU or Stanford would have beaten them as well after having 44 days off to get ready for it. At least in a playoff you have to go beat the other best teams from other conferences to get there. This year those two teams had to beat SEC teams to get there, it was like what was the point then of everyone else even playing this year? In a playoff I do think Bama and LSU would have made it to the title game, and I do think Bama would have won. Which is fine, and they earned their way back there by beating other best teams. Not by doing it by beating the same conference teams LSU beat. The BCS system sucks, and is why the ratings keep going down. I bet you if there was a playoff and Bama and LSU both made it back there again, that the ratings would have actually been higher with more interest.

If we add an 8 team playoff format do we limit teams to no more than 10 games in the regular season? With a conference championship game a National Champion would still play 14 games like LSU did this year.

Division I-AA teams play 11 regular season games, and then the teams that advance to the national championship game play 15 games. If I-AA teams can do it, so can the big boys.

That's a lot of punishment on young bodies.
