So Oklahoma State beats one of the other top ranked teams in the country, yet this game shows that they don't deserve? Wow makes perfect sense, you beat a great team but that shows you don't deserve, Ok then. They just beat one of the top teams in the country, they just showed they are one of the top 3 teams in the country. What happens if Bama loses AGAIN to LSU, does that prove that they weren't the 2nd best then? Which then means Oklahoma State should have gotten the chance. The whole system is a mess, and it's stupid for anyone to say Bama is better when no one knows. Especially after one team in Oklahoma State just beat another top team in Stanford. Opinions are proved wrong all the time in sports, and it's a shame that opinions are how we determine who plays in the Championship.

No my point is Stanford and OK ST. both would be outclassed by LSU and Bama and the fact that those two played a squeaker last night solidifies my opinion on that. Had the Cowboys rolled by a couple of TD's or vice versa for Stanford then maybe I would change my opinion. Since their game turned out the way it did I still feel the way I have since BCS selection. LSU and Bama are clearly the two best teams this season, everyone else is a notch below, Stanford and OK St. are the next two teams and make for a great matchup against one another.

Oklahoma State and Stanford couldn't stop Alabama or LSU from scoring. The defenses that I saw in their bowl game just wouldn't get it done against the Tide or Tigers.

But Bama and LSU's defenses would stop them from scoring. Probably a 3 TD win for either SEC team over the Cowboys or Cardinal, imo.

However, I wonder if Oklahoma State will finish number 2 in the final polls and the loser of the LSU-Alabama game slides down to 3rd.

Could depend on the loser. I can see LSU at 2 if they lose. I can see Bama at 3 if they lose.

I'm not a college football expert, but I think I can watch Alabama and Oklahoma State and come to a solid determination that the Crimson Tide is better.

I would much rather have a playoff, but as ridiculous system, we actually do have the country's two best teams playing for the national championship.

This.

Alabama lost to LSU, who has not been beaten by anyone. Oklahoma St. lost to Iowa St. a team that has been beaten by Texas, Baylor, Missouri, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Kansas St, and Rutgers. That loss is about as bad as it can get for a team claiming to be worthy of a national championship. That is why the Cowboys played last night and not a week later. It is what it is.

No they are not clearly the two best teams, at least not Bama. It is just opinion, and no one knows that for a fact. Have people not learned that about sports yet? And how in sports opinions are proven WRONG ALL THE TIME! Get the teams on the field anything could happen. When Utah and Bama played in a BCS bowl three years ago, most people would agree that Bama is clearly the better team. However once they were on the field, Utah clearly kicked the crap out of them. Opinions are just that opinions, and its pathetic that we end great college football seasons with opinions determining what two teams should be in the title game.

So Coach, who would you put into the game against LSU? The system is what we have. We had a season, and after all was done and said they voted, and have it right. Those Opinions you are bashing is those of experts, and even Vegas has Bama as a favorite.

You bashing of my team is not fair, its over move on and pull for LSU to beat the "Crap" out of my team..Who is your college football team Future?

You want to go back to Utah, well I'll move up to Texas, you are a coach? What sport?

No we are not qualified to tell. If we are so qualified to tell on who is better, then EVERYBODY would be able to predict who wins in every game played. We see all the time in sports what we think is true, ends up getting proved wrong on the field. I mean I think Bama is better too, however no one knows that for sure. I mean we all would have thought Oklahoma State would have beaten a team like Iowa State. Most people would think Bama has a better chance at winning at home against LSU than they would on a neutral site, but they didn't. It's a shame that college football makes their title game based on who people believe are the best two teams. Bama very well could be the 2nd best team, but no one knows that for sure. They just like other teams did lose, and actually lost to the team they play in the title game on their own home fied. College football they say has its playoff system during the regular season, well Bama lost on its own home field. So they should be out too. Honestly as I said in the other thread, the most fair thing honestly would be to crown LSU National Champions now, and just had teams playing to determine who was second best. That is much better than just using opinions to determine who LSU plays.
Other teams who were ranked behind Bama had a chance to prove it on the field, who were they? I forgot, But Bama did what they had to do, we are not apolizing for being there, the other teams failed, and it takes two to play a game, and they got the best two.

So you would want to team who lost to a 6-7 team who was up 24-7 in the 3rd quarter, who 107 in the nation in total defense in the nation? WOW! ROLL TIDE!
What we don't know is how Bama would have done in the Big 12 maybe the lose to someone in the big 12. What we don't know is how Oklahoma State does in the SEC, maybe the only game they would have lost in the SEC was to LSU. That is the whole problem with this yes we look at who teams beat or lost to, but we don't know how that other team would have done with that schedule if they switched places. It all gets back to us putting two teams together in the Championship based on opinion. That is why there needs to be an 8 team playoff with the teams who win their conference in the BCS conferences and then two at larges. This way there really is no opinion deciding a championship, the only opinion would be who are the two at larges. Which if people don't get in as an at large they only have theirselves to blame, since they would know winning their conference automatically gets them in. Right now we have a Big 12 Champion with one lost who doesn't get a chance to at least see how they could do against LSU, while a team who didn't win it's conference gets the nod even though they already lost to that team. College football crowns it champion based on opinion and not on the field and that is not right.
You ever been told you might repeat yourself a little, I went back and reread your comments. Why, I don't know...

No you don't know that they got the best two. It is ONLY AN OPINION that they got the best two, NO ONE KNOWS IF THEY GOT THE BEST TWO OR NOT. Every team plays in difference confrences, we have no idea how other teams would do in other confrences. As I said before maybe Bama would lose in another coference we don't know. Just like we don't know if Bama is definitely the #2 team in the country. If LSU wins again all that means too is that we know that they were without a doubt the best SEC team, because all they had to do was beat one outside of conference team and the rest SEC teams. What was the point in having other conferences then? Same with Bama if they win.

You keep acting like I am saying that Oklahoma State should be in over Bama, I am not saying that. What I am saying is that them just like Standord, etc did deserve a chance to just like Bama. It was only opinion that has Bama in the title game, and opinions get proved wrong. College football sucks when it comes to that, and its just not this year. Every year they crown a champ based on opinion and that is a shame.

You ever been told you might repeat yourself a little, I went back and reread your comments. Why, I don't know...
Too funny!

Forget it, AL, your message is obviously falling on deaf ears.

You complain about the system, (futue coach) where I have stated we need a Plus One. Just don"t keep knocking my team for being there. Its not opinion when OSU/Stanford/Boise State/Sooners/Oregon all lost and Bama won out. The games were like a playoff, if you think LSU should be NC right now, I'll agree with you, but then nation will not allow it. OK, so answer my question, who should be in the game against LSU?

Bluto, I just love punishing my self.

I would say the Oklahoma State argument took a major hit tonight ...

I would say the Oklahoma State argument took a major hit tonight ...

How so? All it proved was that LSU could be beat, and how LSU on offense only has a running game with Jefferson at QB. LSU was the best season all year long, however all it took was one game for someone else to be the Champion. That is why I think there needs to be a playoff, maybe Bama doesn't get there in a playoff system, or maybe LSU doesn't. The team that won its division, its conference, and the only team to be undefeated all year long, loses one game and that team ends up being the National Champion. Even though they had to do nothing else really after losing to LSU the first time to get a chance to play them again. I do think Bama is the best team in the nation, but I still hate how college football ends it's season and how it crowns it champion.

(Before Alabama Larry goes off on me, I do think Bama would have won the title still in a playoff system. :D
