The Class A team out of the East definitely had a point to prove and it was proven. Congratulations to Hazard on your first state title and on playing a very impressive game to get it. Many thought that the championship game was last week between Mayfield and Beechwood, but evidently it wasn't.

 

I can honestly say I didn't see this coming, as well as plenty others. Alone on the predictions poll of BGP, Mayfield was favored by a vote of 53-2 and this doesn't count the other polls out along with several others not voting who probably didn't think this was going to happen.

 

Congratulations again to Hazard; happy to see a Class A title in EKY; long awaited and well deserved.

Just goes to show you that hard work, playing as one, believing and dedication pays off. No one gave Hazard a chance and I'm sure that's exactly the way they wanted it. Congrats to Hazard and their fans. Great cap on a great season.

I have watched well over 300 games this season and I can say this was one of the best defensive efforts I have seen especially when you considered who the opponent was.

 

Mayfield you guys are a good team and the run you had leaves no doubt about that.Congrats on the season you had and good luck next season. Yall have nothing to hang your heads for.
