Not surprised by this; outside of Louisville, many 6A teams can't compete this year except a few.

Trinity, St. Xavier and Manual are three of the best five 6A teams in the state. Male is better than people give them credit for because of their record against a tough schedule.

 

The only real surprise is Male's margin of victory.

That's hilarious 'cause it's true. IF Hackett gets his wish this year his buddy McKee will get to say they played in the state finals, mission accomplished. It will be this way every year, maybe even worse next year as the 4 'super district' teams all return a lot of talent and experience. BTW, Hackett is quietly trying to make the super district play itself in the 1st 2 rounds and not cross district so that Bumfuzzle, ky can say they played for the region title.

If you don't like the current setup, convince the four "super schools" to start the Louisville-Select High School Athletic Association and have your own tournaments.

I don't think that is arguable, the only other consideration would be Simon Kenton in 2009, but that is it. He did not validate any need for the KHSAA, he's actually shown how they've continually screwed it up. First, they allow every team to make the playoffs, which is a joke. Second, they put Trinity and St. X in the same district, which is a joke. Third, they align the bracket every other year (prior to this year) so that the Louisville schools knock each other out early so that the clearly over-matched county schools can make the semi-finals and finals only to get blown out in the first half by the remaining Louisville power.

 

Why on Earth should those 3-4 teams play each other early, when they are clearly the best? It's a terrible institutional flaw that the KHSAA has set up. The complaints came in that Trinity and St. X made the finals every year...because they are the two best teams! Do the county teams complain enough so Scott County, Ryle, and Simon Kenton can say they at least made the finals and got blown out 49-0?

 

So don't get offended when someone mention's Hee-Haw county making the finals, but it is literally a joke and they do not deserve to be there.

What does it matter when they play? When was the last time Manual or Male beat Trinity? Should we put them in a seperate district so they a clearly over matched St. X, Male or Manual team can get blown out in the title game? Even us simple minded hicks from Hee-Haw county can figure out 6A was over before it started this year and most others.
