Again, the best solution is five classes, with Trinity and St. Xavier by themselves in 5A.

 

That way, they can play whoever they want to with no restrictions and play each other for a state championship. And the rest of the big schools on the state can play in a class that has plenty of parity.

Scott County might have something to say about 6A State Title , They might come out shock the world or at least the Greater Louisville metro "All Stars"

If you don't like the current setup, convince the four "super schools" to start the Louisville-Select High School Athletic Association and have your own tournaments.

College/high school analogies don't fly ... for one thing, college programs are allowed to recruit their talent. And the regional brackets aren't based on geography.

This was done "on accident", He is used to schools with large student bodies and recruiting so try to understand his mistake.

I am not a 6a fan. I am the fan of a school in almost the same boat as describe in Lou area. But I realize the districts are set up by geogophy and dont make excusses for being in the same district as NCC. The last few years we would have gone deeper if we didnt have,to play them in the third round but we do. If you want to win a state championship beat trinity, Holy Cross has to beat NCC to get one. It is what it is.

and that's fine, however don't accuse someone of being "elitest" or being "prejudice" because they use terms that are not PC. Hell I would have said Coalsling, Ky or Cousin' Kissin' County, KY and I'm not an elitest or prejudice I'm just not PC.

Now lets make sure they keep playing each other and knock one another out of the playoffs so Bumfuzzle, Ky and Hee-Haw County can say they were in the semi finals.

Alright. The SEC had divisional play which led to seeding by divisions for the SEC Tournament. The weak SEC West got two byes when the best three-four teams were in the SEC East. Therefore the third and fourth best team in the conference came from the East and had to wind up playing the best earlier and without a day's rest.

 

What did the SEC do? They changed it because they wanted the four best teams to get byes and set up a potential 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 in the semifinals instead of a 1 vs. 3/4 or 2 vs. 3/4 in the quarterfinals.

 

Now the KHSAA playoffs don't have byes but essentially the point of placing the best teams in one area of the bracket in order to eliminate them sooner is stupid. As I said before they used to do it every other year and now it is every year. They royally screwed up, but good luck to whoever makes the finals and plays Trinity/St. X/Manual/Male every year. I guess once those four start blowing people out in the Finals they'll have to figure out another avenue to satisfy the county schools.

You mean what ever team gets to the finals and has to play T with X in there every now and then? Whens the last time Manual made the title game? When's the last time Male made it having to go through T or X to get there? The fact is it doesn't matter who ends up playing T in the finals, they will get blown out and that includes the other District 1 teams. So your argument doesn't hold water this year or probably even next.

Not true at all on geography for the Disctricts. There are several schools closer to Trinity than Manual/Male. We did a map od all the 6a schools, and its really not even close. Even St X is out of range compared to schools who are.
