Barth has done a very good job at WV, but Owen smoked them in a home game for the Bearcats. That eliminates Barth for me for this award.

Varsity football or "quality varsity football"? Lots of financial support and resources around WV that aren't there for Owen County. If that is the measuring stick, then Cooper's Borchers would get it over Barth because Cooper played a tougher schedule at a higher level. Owen County hasn't been worth a hoot in football for quite some time, and to finish the regular season unbeaten is saying something. Now maybe next week Newport blows them out I don't know.

I'm going with Borchers who's team beat Lickert's Camels.

Sarge, I was responding to StickerMann. Owen and WV played head to head at WV and Owen won easily. How many thought the Rebels would go unbeaten this year? Bearcat fans that I know thought Walton would defeat the Rebels in Walton. Cooper tonight knocked off a 6A team with a Division 1 quarterback. I am not knocking Barth at all. I think he has done a great job, but in my opinion Borchers, Siple, Fowler and Lickert all did much better than I would have thought at the beginning of the year, and the one who did the best was the undefeated Fowler.

All the coaches mentioned are great candidates, but IMO it has to be Coach Borchers. He has been there since the program first started, and each year the team has gotten better. I know they moved down to 5A this year, but they did lose their star runningback, who was the center of their whole offense. Yet they come back this year even better and win the district, with a chance to make some noise in the playoffs. He has done a great job with the program from the very beginning, and I think people are finally noticing that this year. IMO he is definitely the coach of the year in NKY.

I would say Borchers. A lot of coaches could win though.

IF Bracken County is considered NKY, then Siple wins this hands down. A program that had 7 wins in it's HISTORY went 6-4 this season.
