"Koz is a great coach. and I think it could be his, but for whatever reason I never got the vibe that he wants to climb any ladders? I don't know him so I could be wrong but I always assumed he was just having fun and teaching the game in his retirement.

Not a knock on him, just didn't know if his goal was high pressure big program.

After beating NCC he can stay at HC for the next 5 years with no pressure because of what he did this year and previous."

I am not sure why wanting to stay at a small school and growing the program would preclude someone from COY. I do not think you have to have aspirations to try to go to a bigger program. Isn't being a good coach getting the most out of your players and the talent available and doing your best to make improvements? Just my two cents. After this weekend I think definitely in the hunt if not moving towards a frontrunner.

KOZ ain't leaving HC. He loves it there. Loves everything about it including the community it serves.

Koz gets my vote

I'd still vote for Siple, but I'm really biased. Kozerski would certainly deserve it though.

How can you not vote for Kozerski? He has been part of the HolyCross program since it started and led them to a State Championship....

Im sorry, i was more referring to the dixie job than the COY, the thread had deviated for a moment. No, he has now proven he is COY, i was merely referring to tthe Dixie job.

No worries sometimes written statements don't come out as intended.

Kozerski has taken Holy Cross to a state championship in only their 14th year of existance. He has beena hugepart of this program from the start and he would get my vote hands down. He adjusted the defense after the first NCC game, and since then the most points HC has given up is 21. As mentioned earlier he completely changed the offensive mindset to beat NCC, and then won the final two playoff games convincingly.

HC was the first school to bring a title back to NKY other than BW, CCH, NCC, or Highlands since 1983. If Koz doesn't get COY, then it is a crock. He built that program and deserves as much praise this year as possible. After taking a bad loss against BW, he corrected mistakes and took them to the title. COY in my book! The other coaches winning their district is great, but winning it all after a rough start is more impressive

What if there were a coach who coached the smallest school in their class.

And his O and D linemen were outsized almost every game.

And he coached at a public school.

And early in the playoffs he loses his 1,000 yard receiver.

With all that working against him, he still wins the state championship.

Would he be worthy of mention in COY?

I'm just kidding, kinda...
