November 11, 201114 yr Either way I wouldn't have responded until today. Didn't see the game. Looks like Palmer played pretty well. Still had 2 turnovers.
November 11, 201114 yr ^Should've been 3....First play of the game, the DB had the route jumped for an easy pick six and just missed it. He played pretty well, but still made 2-3 big mistakes that he got away with.

November 11, 201114 yr ^True. 26 27 41 That is the number of Raider rushing attempts in Palmer's 3 games. That's the difference, IMO. The Raiders were more committed to pounding the football last night and took some pressure off. Bush got 30 carries last night vs. 36 in the previous two games combined. That is Oakland's formula for success. That is what they have to do. It will help Palmer settle in and make things easier for him. Palmer was 14 of 20. He threw 21 passes in less than a half against KC and 35 last week. The Raiders should win this division. They've got the best 1-2 RB duo in the league, IMO, a serviceable QB and a decent defense. That should be enough.
November 11, 201114 yr Author Still had 2 turnovers. Did he? I know Rivers threw another pick. I was kind of surprised that SD didn't do better on the ground.

He played pretty well, but still made 2-3 big mistakes that he got away with. Why didn't that corner run through the route? I was shocked that wasn't a pick 6. However if we're going to say that could have been a pick the only real pick he threw would have been an easy TD if Bush didn't completely miss a block. Overall I'd say Oakland and Jackson would rather be where they are right now with CP who's clearly gotten better every game than if they stuck it out with Boller. 20 attempts and 299 yards on the road in a must win is pretty good.
November 11, 201114 yr 300 yards on 20 attempts after 3 weeks in a helmet on a new team and we're still saying he can't play. Hue Jackson has his man.

November 11, 201114 yr Al would have been proud. Was that not vintage Raider football? Pound the rock and throw the ball down the field. Bush and McFadden (when healthy) are great weapons to have.

November 11, 201114 yr Author 300 yards on 20 attempts after 3 weeks in a helmet on a new team and we're still saying he can't play. Hue Jackson has his man. He can play. Like I said about his last game, inconsistent. If he can perform more consistently, then Hue has his man. I say still out, but last night was a statement in his defense.
November 11, 201114 yr On one of his INT's last night, he actually had his man wide open in the endzone. Had his back blocked his man, easy TD. Since he got hit from behind during his release the throw came up short and got picked. Really good game by Palmer though. Hopefully he keeps improving.
