Covcath dominated Lex Cath last year and much better this year. CovCath has the formula to win. Control the line of scrimmage and keep Highlands offense off the field.

I could be wrong. I do think people are still underestimating LexCath.

Most points given up by Highlands since 2005 losing to Colerain 45-14, St. X 45-0 and Desales 48-22. No NKY team has scored that many points against the Bluebirds since prior to 1998, when the KHSAA records begin online.

Highlands is still the favorite to win 4A, Highlands fans need to take a chill pill. Just because someone pointed out that are not the 72 Dolphins doesn't mean they are getting disrespected. HHS will in all probability go 15-0 but even HHS fans should be able to take off their Bluebird tinted glasses and admit that they can be defeated after watching them win a close game today.

I didn't watch, but I listened. This one sounded like a game from end to end. I had to go buy a car with my daughter at the mid-point of the fourth quarter, and couldn't wait to get out of the car so I could make a phone call to find out the final. Deep down, I think everyone has known all along that the Birds were going to have an off day, and with the history here I think a lot of them felt like CovCath could be the team they had it against. The important thing is surviving and gaining the home-field advantage for the playoff meeting, if it happens. Whatever the case, one thing I took out of this is that CovCath could be scary next year on offense. Not sure how many linemen they'll graduate, but the QB and RB positions are looking pretty solid. My hat is off to the Big Colonels.

You'll never get us to admit it (and I may be deported from Ft. Thomas for saying this), but I think most of us are happy to see the old blood & guts rivalry getting back to where it once was. You know, we don't have to look at this game as exposing "how beatable" Highlands truly is. Instead, we should really be looking at this as how strong and well coached Cov Cath has become. We haven't fallen...they've just risen up closer to our part of the stratosphere.

Anyone not giving some credit to Ashland & Rockcastle may be in for a rude awakening. Ashland may be the 2nd best team in 4a, period.

In my opinion your best offense is keeping the birds offense from the field. CCH very nice ball control huge holes and short passing game. Had a field day throwing away from New. Murray had a game he will likely not enjoy film session. The Birds will have new wrinkles when they play again. HHS was beat upfront. Fantastic O-line CCH; however defense very suspect, we should have scored all day.

 

Murray had a tough day as they went after him but he made the play of the game knocking down that pass on 3rd down and CCHs last series. Great mental toughness IMO.

I believe they graduate 4 linemen and Gray. Next year's group will be very hard pressed to be near as good as this current group.

Highlands is definitely beatable... Trinity beat them in the scrimmage!
