That is a silly comment IMO. As someone said earlier, comparing eras is unrealistic. If the 1960 Manual players had today's knowledge and standards of training, weightlifting, etc., who knows how they would do. You have to look at how a team compares within their era. I would say if the 1975-76 Reds played the 1927 Yankees, the Reds would win easily but most still say the 1927 Yankees are the greatest team ever.

I am assuming people are referring to Manual's "1959" state champion team, many of whom were class of "1960". Manual had 6 Allstate players. See the link below for the Allstate listing for 59--3 first teamers and 3 second teamers. By comparison, the 2000 Male squad had 4 first teamers and 1 third teamer. In 2002 Trinity had 6 allstate players, 3 on first team, 2 on second, 1 on third.

No, I don't. The players are much bigger and stronger today. Starting pitchers routinely throw in the mid 90's and the closers are in the upper 90's.

Baseball is much more hand-eye than football...Give the 76 Reds the context of today's training, coaching, and I think they would perform well in today's game.

If they run table, without a doubt. I don't think they have to do that with the schedule they play. I can't recall a team in KY to ever put a schedule together like this. I don't go back very far but a fella I know does. I will ask Floyd and re-post.

Chris Redmon is one of the best players out of the state that won a Champion ship so I'd pick his Male team. Chris is in the pros still, so he must be OK. The Rocks are very good, and will be also next year, but like many of them said, lets wait, right now Alabama has the best college team in the history of mankind. We are 2-0...get my point. :idunno:

No...I don't get your point. Highlands with Lorenzen and Smith would of beat that 2000 Male team.. Male also didn't play anybody...

Here is my point..No one goes to the Pit and beats Elder 56-7..They could of scored 80 if they wanted..Go back and look at all the teams that have played GCL teams over the years.. The margin of victory is always pretty close. Trinity imo is the most dominate team ever in Ky. If they lose a game this year I will be highly surprised..

Trinity 2011 returns 3 2010 Allstaters (Quick, White and Reynolds)...How many more Rocks will join these 3? I'm guessing Hatcher for sure, probably Travis Wright, add a couple linemen and Trinity could easily have 7 or 8 on the Allstate teams for 2011.

Time will tell... but this squad has met all the requirements to this point. Which is still an EARLY point.

People need to quit referring to the great Manual team of 1960. As 58 Bulldogs noted earlier, Manual's super team was 1959 and not 1960. The best Kentucky team in 1960 was Flaget, quarterbacked by Rick Norton (who went on to be an All-American at UK) and coached by the brilliant passing innovator, Paulie Miller.
