StraightShooter Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 One of those unexplainable non-contact ACL tears. We will miss seeing a young man with the heart of a champion playing again at the high school level. What a pleasure to watch his hard work turn himself into a D1 athlete. Our prayers are with Travis as he has surgery on Wednesday. I'm sure Travis will rehab quickly and prepare for his next challenge in life at WKU.

You hate to see a season ending injury of any kind, but especially when it ends his senior season.
katbird Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Awful..You know the kid will work his tail off to get back on the field asap. Western is getting a true gamer and a very good football player..Good luck young man..
gold sunrise Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Hate to hear of anyone getting hurt and having to sit out an entire season, especially his senior year. Best of luck to this young man in his surgery, rehab and playing at the next level at WKU.
Blue Magic Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 The surgery and the rehab are going to be the easy part for him. It's watching his team every Friday night that's going to be the hard part. I feel horrible for him.
rockmom Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) Thankfully, although a season-ending injury, he'll be able to play again. Wishing a speedy recovery to the young man. Edited September 3, 2011 by Birdsfan Typo
Lawnboy13 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Shame to see a kid miss out on his senior year. He now joins NewCath junior standout Brady Thacker who went down last week and is out for the season.
theguru Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Terrible, awful, horrible. On to WKU. See you at the gym Travis.
Bird Bath Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 This is aweful news. Get well wishes and we will certainly miss him this season.
CardinalsFan Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Best wishes from the entire Colerain community. He showed early flashes of solid play. Would have liked to see him the entire game but like most ACL injuries, this was a freak one that couldn't have been prevented. Best of luck on a speedy recovery and in your college career. -CardinalsFan
scout Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Hate to see that for him, the team and the Raider Nation. I don't use the 'deserve' often, but that kid deserved a senior year. Hang in there Travis.
DRKARK Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Keep your head Travis! You will for sure bounce right back!
Birdsfan Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) Adversity only makes you stronger. You'll be an even better player at WKU than you might have been otherwise. Edited September 4, 2011 by Birdsfan
Clyde Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 A real tragedy. You hate to see a season ending injury of any kind, but especially when it ends his senior season. Tragedy? Can you rephrase that?
Clyde Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 The good news is he has until 2013 to get healthy. No question he will go to work.
