I know that SK looked rough tonight and I'm aware that they are a bigger school and it is rare to lose to small schools, but they shouldn't be looked down on. They are in a rebuilding phase and is something that many teams go through. Beechwood simply has a great team and I believe that there are plenty of other schools that they could beat in every class outside of Class A this year.

Beechwoods DL controlled SKs OL and that was a big factor in the game. That DE BW has is a nice looking player with a high motor. SK pretty much contained the off tackle runs and inside runs, but, Bw had alot better success running outside with the guard pulling and lead blocking. They really did well staying with there blocks once they got past the initial line of scrimmage. SK was pretty predictable on offense and they've got alot of work to do on the Offensive lines. They did have there opportunities but there receivers dropped way too many balls.

 

Way to go Bwood. An all around solid performance.

So if they are down, they're down. Period. Not everyone gets a trophy. To get blanked by a 1A school is not good no matter how you try to justify it.

Over rated is being to kind, they were flatout TERRIBLE.

6A quality football appears to be really lacking in Northern Ky this year.

Maybe, just maybe SK should worry more about there OL and playcalling and less about the officials. That seemed to be a much bigger problem than officiating.

GOTCHA, sorry I just could not resist! I was thinking the thread was kind of empty.

The end of the first quarter wasn't pretty for us tonight. Attempting to let the quarter end while failing to realize they had to run a play. That penalty drops them back to 2nd and long, then Brilz made a great play for a DLinman, picking it off and setting Bwood up for their first score which he grabbed. Impressed with Beechwood, they don't have huge numbers but the kids that play can really play. They have a stable of backs and the QB, Davis, is solid. They will be hard to beat but that's not breaking news. SK was abused in the flats, the Tigers took advantage of it at will. Congrats to Nate Powell, his first 100 yard game and it won't be his last.

The horses left the barn the last two years from SK....Miles and Lawrence.Those were two spectacular players. Please, oh please, let's stop talking about SK as a state contender. All of the Northern Kentucky 6A teams together couldn't beat Trinity. They are competitive with one another-that's the best thing you can say about them. Boone is off to the best start of the bunch. I hope the Pioneers improve.
