I am pretty sure our history with the native Americans are a little after our founding fathers created the constitution that is the frame work of our country. As for slavery, it has been around since the days Jesus walked on this earth and at times was caused by Gods hands for his chisen people mostly because they forgot about him. There is no such this as evil................evil is just the word we use to describe the absence of God!

Let me spell it out a little more clearly. Many of our founding fathers had slaves. How does that factor into the notion that they were Godly?

True Blue, just a point here early man didn't really know better and didn't have scriptures to help with until later, even then there were still slaves, man was stupid, but they learned.

17th century probably doesn't have anything to do with our country. 1776 ring a liberty bell with you! Yes, some or even most of our family fathers had slaves and my reference was to God delivering his chosen people into slavery so it may not necessarily be a Christian thing to do it doesn't mean they didn't believe in God. I am saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and I believe in God ad read the Bible but that doesn't mean all of my actions and thoughts are Christian like after all I am human just like our founding fathers!

Me either.....come judgement day these arguments will not look good when standing before God....especially when he is not bound by the Supreme Court of the United States. We lose sight that God is not bound by these foolish laws that go directly against the Bible and all the rational thoughts of men wont mean anything in that day. And you all can write that down that I said that also.

"Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." Jesus didn't lobby to have laws changed or demand a theocracy installed. Why do you disagree?

So the Pilgrims, Puritans and the Holy Commonwealth of Massachusetts have nothing to do with our country? Hmmm.

 

As to the slavery remark, wow is about all I can say. Are you referring to the Hebrews becoming slaves in Egypt (which is never attributed in the Bible as God's actions, just Pharaoh's), or are you referring to the Exile hundreds of years later?

Now I'm really confused.. Help me out here folks.. Seems that most of the Christian posters in this thread are against spoken prayers in public schools etc. But it's OK for Muslims to have school prayers... Our founding fathers were not really Christian because they owned slaves.. But abortion is OK because it's the law...

Saw where the Bell Co FB coach got beat up at the game by a Middlesboro fan, do away with prayer and see what happens.

I am one of the Christian posters on this site and I am not against public prayer in a public place.
