A 20 second prayer at a football game by some good preacher is NOT SHOVING something down your throat. It isnt like they are asking who is saved or not and if you want to get saved meet us in the endzone immediately. I have been to games where they didnt pray, and it did not bother me one bit.

I was at the Nascar race in Bristol, Tn. Saturday night. We sang God Bless The USA. Did the Pledge of Allegiance. Then Joe Gibbs led 155,000 in prayer. Then we sang the National Anthem. All this was done as troops in uniform were positioned down every aisle in the place. I can't wait to here about the lawsuit that this will cause and what Nascar's response will be. I do have a pretty good idea what it will be though...

Also stopped at a rest area coming home on Sunday afternoon. There was a muslim with his blanket on the grass and he was praying. No one said anything to him and the rest area didn't blow up...

You don't deserve rights then either. You're the most one-sided, my way or the highway individual I've ever come across. You feel your rights should trump the rights of everyone that doesn't think like you.

That is not what I am saying at all. Christians have stood around and let the ACLU ruin things like prayer at ballgames, etc. Christians have let their rights go away while IMO other religions get more becasue our government is afraid to make them mad, but they dont care about christianity.

You dont deserve rights because IMO you are one sided as you are the only one correct. Everyones rights should be what you think. If you think prayer outloud is bad then why punish those who feel it is OK. Just because you dont believe. Youi can take the public place, taxpayers stuff and shove that arguement as far as you like down the drain.

 

As for atheist, I have no problem with them and hope they get into church and get saved.

Former, the peace I was talking about is how I relate to things/people I disagree with and the Peace of knowing of and reading about eternal life.

I was wondering the same thing....Have you ever heard of Muslims getting up in arms because they weren't allowed to pray before a football game? I sure haven't. :idunno:

I did some research and asked several people about this. Most said like I posted way back, "I haven't heard prayer at a school game in years". So, again it doesn't happen much at all. Maybe in the Southern States you hear of it more.

 

So, I'm about done on this unless someone asks me or tries to make my comments fit to their need.

 

We have a Freshman game this afternoon away from Louisville and later varsity games at Boone County/Lexington. I'll report back if there are prayers over the loudspeakers.

Correct, but football is a sport, that folks pay admission to see. High School sports is also supported by donations and sponsorships from businesses and individuals. From what I've read the discussion is about the rights of the people.

It's almost as if you can wave the "Christians aren't perfect" flag around and use that as an excuse to be as disgusting as you want. Once your found out that formerkywrestler was an atheist, you started treating him even more horribly than the rest of us. Do you consider that witnessing for Christ?
