I go to the game to watch football. But its when people who want this, maybe the players and their parents and folks have to spoil it. Just let them pray, what harm is it? Really, Pray for the families of September 11th 2001. Lets all do that one.

 

If anyone tries to stop me from praying, well Jesus got mad at threw out the greedy people trying to sell ther stuff in the Temple. I'm just sayin...

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama . Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama ! The judge's poem sums it up quite well.

From a cursory look at the case you provided I think we are dealing with 2 different aspects of the First Amendment Clause.

 

This story is of a teacher who displayed many items (I think I read that correctly) and the Judeo-Christian exhibits were singled out for removal. I disagree with that and figure the appeals court will reverse that decision because of the presentation and the accompanying of other religious displays. Also the definition of the exhibits are ambigious and do not have to be read as strictly a Judeo-Christian God.

 

I think the prayer issue we've spent 12 pages on deals with a coerced activity (public prayer and the listening of said prayer) versus this educational activity.

I think Christians spend way too much time worrying about situations like this and way too much time complaining and trying to get it changed. I've been guilty of it myself in the past. I've since changed my thinking. I really don't care about this. A real Christian cannot be stopped from praying before a ball game, or any other place at any other time. The fact that a prayer can or cannot be broadcast over a loud-speaker means next to nothing. What does that prayer mean to a non-Christian? What does it mean to a Christian that is of any more significance or importance than a prayer they could say themselves?

That song pays more allegiance to America than to God. I'm not saying some group won't protest it at some point, but I'd consider it a real stretch to label it as Christian.
