I never knew we had so many atheist in this world or on this board. Why do you all get on the religion topics anyway, if you dont believe in God then stay off religious discussions. It is like this, I dont believe in Budda, so I dont go to Budda discussions or sites.

 

You claim to be tolerant, then make posts like this that show you have zero understanding of the word.

 

If you are what a "true" Christian is, I sure as heck don't want to have anything to do with them. Easily the most intolerant person I've ever come across on here or in real life.

Actually, there are very few athiests, moutain ref. Most of us are Christians of a variety of denominations who respect that in America, those of others have the same rights as we enjoy.

What is a true Christian, one who sits by and lets others take away their rights and mock God.

You dont deserve rights, you should go to some Middle Eastern country and see how you get treated.

I'm glad the Non believers are on this type topics, they are easy to defend, because they don't understand the peace we as Christians enjoy, this is seen thru our faith as taught in scripture. We also have the need to share the Gospel with them in hoping they to would have this Peace and eternal life.

I'd like to hear more about this peace I don't understand? Going back through history I seem to not recall any instances of atheists starting wars over their "lack of a God" or exterminating people based on their religious beliefs.

You would've thrived back in the days of religious prosecution, where if you didn't believe a certain way it was common place to burn people at the stakes and behead them.

When the 5K people came to hear him preach and teach they were short of food, so he got some fish and bread and asked his Father to do his will and then it was like Ryans Steak house, all you could eat and there were left overs,,,before they ate the food Jesus Blessed it with prayer. Out Loud. Jesus prayed Out loud for his Father to forgive the ones who were killing him, Jesus prayed out loud to the Father as he was gonna raise a dead man.

 

Jesus prayed Out Loud to his Father as he was asking the Father if he should die? The nite before he did. He taught his Disciples how to pray, its called "The Lord's Prayer" is was also done...out loud.

 

As he was crossing the water he walked on there was a storm, he prayed out loud for the waters/storm to ease up. They did.

 

Jesus commands us to pray, any time we feel the Holy Spirit lead us to.

Maybe, just maybe you are taking these events out of context and comparing them to the event of the Football Game. In each of the above events there is a variety of places and purposes. The Feeding of the 5,000 was in an intentional "teaching/preaching" event. The walking on water Jesus isn't really praying but actually telling the wind and storm to cease because He has power over these elements. When He prays for grace on his executioners it is a private plea and not a formal one. "The Lord's Prayer" (really the Model Prayer because the real Lord's Prayer should be John 17 where Jesus prays for the disciples and the ones to follow) is a teaching model in a discipling event.

 

The issue on the table here is nothing of the above. It is not a worship service, a discipling event or an evangelistic crusade. It is in fact a SECULAR event. IMO its exactly the thing that Jesus is trying to teach us in Matthew 6 to beware or we make a mockery of prayer as some talisman. If you need any further example google the disgusting prayer offered by the pastor in TN just before the Nationwide race this year who turned the same very public like event you speak of into a platform of self-praise and farsical humor.
