Certainly. But the prayer from the indivduals would have been the only one that really effected the situation.

 

I also might add that there is nothing more that audible prayer would have done that a moment of silence (allowing for prayer from those that really were intent on doing so) would not have done.

No I do not behave in a Christ like way, i am not perfect and i am a sinner and I do go overboard at time with my ideas and thoughts, but i do pray for forgiveness and to be a better witness each day and I thank Jesus for dying for my sins.

I do not attack other religions, I attack those who I feel are taking away from what had been done. If being intolerant of those means I do not agree with thsoe who say we shouldnt pray at public events, then yes I am intolerant. But I also feel those people who disagree with me are not tolerant of my views either. It does go both ways you know.

And for much of this country's early history the holiday of Christmas was not celebrated, honored or observed. (In some Colonial states the event was even outlawed by our dear Christian Fathers) So when this nation began to actually celebrate Christmas as a civic event as well as spiritual one - would you have been opposed because afterall the "tradition" of not observing the holiday had been around a long, long time.
