All in good fun, of course. Ought to be an excellent game out in Tempe.

 

No hard feelings. I enjoy rooting for ND, but I can't cheer against my Bucks!

 

Xman85 and CentreRocks...recalling from memory I don't think Trinity had any short fields in the game; 1 or 2 at the most.

I think it is funny that Bean has so quickly gone from a guy that everyone wants gone to some sort of hero. Whatever happened to believing in the scheme all along? I just hope that if things get tough a thread like this doesn't happen again.

 

No, he's not a "hero". He has directed a defense that is allowing 30 points per game against St. X(90 points in 3 games). The largest factor was adding the offensive linemen to the mix on defense. Better talent makes for a "better coach". The Rocks took this one. We'll see how the defense performs next September.

I thought #4 Brian Hart had a great chanpionship game, he was breaking up St. X plays all night. In fact, the group I sat with (St. X side) thought he might have been the MVP, for that game anyway.

I agree with Clubberlang...the biggest difference in this game was T's D. They may have given up a lot of yards, but yards do not win games - or championships in this matter...points do.

 

The philosophy of Coach Bean's D has always been "bend, but don't break". (I think that's why T fans have been disgruntled about the D the past two years) Coach Bean's philosophy has been the same way since he was at Oldham Co. High back in the 80s; at St. X during the 90s; and now at Trinity. As much as I hate seeing Coach Bean at T I'm happy that he's coaching once again - a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

There is no one happier than I with the way the defense performed ,not only in the State Game , but the final half of the year. Sure , I was ticked after the first game with X , and unjustly ripped some people. BUT, there were many who agreed that the 2 year point fest X put on us was more than a tad ridiculous. They wasn't that big of a talent discrepency, though X can lay claim to having the horses the past 2 years.

This teams success has to be one of the all time best coaching performances by anyone , let alone Trinity.And the 'men of the year' have to be Huter and Holland. Those 2 were awesome on both sides of the ball.There could be no better 2 linemen in the state than those 2 young men.

Beatty should be the coach of the year again, and Coach Bean deserves some heaps of praise also.

Now , MR . Run First.........why not rip into Rick Bozich for his mockery of the Rocks offense after the first game.How many HS coaches get ripped in the Courier -Journal? Well, Coach Beatty did, and he should be given the chance to stick Bozo's article to him where the sun doesn't shine.OR , are you afraid to call out a newspaper columnist?
