Dusty's at fault for Harang's lack of production his final year(s) in Cincy, too? What's next, unemployment and gas prices?

What's all this stuff about everyone loving Brian Price if he can't stand up for his pitchers since his manager doesn't have a conscience when running them out there?

He'll start as many games this year as the last two. He only had two seasons in Cincy where his ERA was above his average. Total innings has gone down every year after '06. How in God's name can you put Harang's mediocrity on Dusty Baker?

Add another .5 to that ERA in GABP. Not to mention the psychological impact of GABP versus San Diego canyon. I have no doubt pitching at GABP makes pitchers throw scared. In a ballpark like San Diego, just ease up, throw it down the middle and say good luck. Pitchers get a lot more aggressive and it impacts their whole mindset at home and away.
Well, I was playing devil's advocate until this one. You're totally mistaken about pitching in a bigger park. Guys challenge hitters much more in a big park. Not afraid of walking a guy and giving up a 2 run bomb like a GASP or in Denver.

Ah, the extra inning affair in the middle of the night a couple of seasons ago when Dusty pitched him in relief. Where were you?

Crash, you've got to get on the Dusty Bashwagon. Got a seat warmed up for ya!

That is exactly what I was saying, right?

I conceded that it could've affected him short term but no way it affected him long term.

There's much more room on my side....

Maybe on the BGP bus but not elsewhere. I bet if you took a poll in the general public, Dusty has more that view him favorably than unfavorably.

Blue Magic is going to be so upset that some of you haven't heeded his suggestion.

I'd take that bet in a heart beat.

VOR must be talking about fans in St. Louis, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh.

I'm waiting to get scolded......of course if he does scold us that means that he got back on this thread.....hmmmmmm

Wrong. Anybody with any baseball sense would have known that Leake had reached his limit.

I would take my baseball sense against you any day of the week, if your going to say you don't have baseball sense if you don't take him out. Leake had pitched great all day, and was producing ground ball outs. The Mets had their pitcher leading off the inning that inning, and even The hit that he gave up to make it first and third was a weak little hit, that would have been caught any other time by Phillips but he was going to cover the base. Lets not act like he went out there and did horrible because he reached his limit as you say. If anything it would have been better to keep him in one more batter to try to produce a ground ball inning ending double play.

As I said before I usually agree with most of the Dusty bashing, but not in this case. In this case people would have been on him no matter what he did, if he didn't work. Just like you probably don't say a word if Leake goes out and gets a 1,2,3 inning, I doubt you say then anything about Leake reaching his limit. Dusty was going to make the wrong move no matter what in this case if it didn't work.

And you would lose in a landslide.

A manager has 100% of the data at his disposal. Scouting reports, scatter charts, matchups...etc. He also knows how everyone of his players feels before every game. He also has coaches whose only job is to know how his particular players feel and how affective they are in certain situations. You guys have Google.....
