May 23, 201115 yr What has Fred Lewis done? Gomes has shown he's capable of getting hot, and he hits .286 against lefties. As westsider stated he is being used the wrong way by Dusty. The Reds need to play him against lefties only, and keep him as a player with some pop off the bench. Lewis adds nothing to the team IMO. I agree about Lewis. I am not trying to defend Gomes, he has done nothing lately but maybe used as you stated he could help.

May 23, 201115 yr How would they be short a pitcher? Volquez wouldn't be scheduled to pitch in the Philly series. When Volquez's spot comes up they make another move for a pitcher, and LeCure will start against the Braves. If Lecure is going to start they are short a pitcher. If not they aren't.

They said the Reds would need another roster spot by Fridy.

I heard that as well I just don't see why the Jays would even consider unless they were getting Votto in return...and as.much as I love Bailey and think he is the Reds best SP I would do this trade in heartbeat...Stubbs, Phillips, Votto, Bautista, Rolen and Bruce would be a beastly line up...And to think of the numbers Bautista would put up in GABP :scared:
