They got Thompson for one reason and one reason only and that was to pitch after Homer was done.

Plus, Thompson and Fisher are already going down. That leaves two spots for fresh arms. LeCure should be available for the Braves series. Masset, Ondrusek, and Coco will all be available. So using Arrendondo one extra inning was going to destroy their bullpen for the Braves series how exactly?

He pretty much gave up I agree but it's 1 game in the grand scheme of things. No reason to tax the bullpen even more. Might as well use the guy who isn't going to be on the roster tomorrow.

He should easily have been able to go two innings. If it were a 5+ run game, I'd be in agreement. It was a tie game in the 6th, and even in the 7th down only 3, you still have a chance to win. All you have to do is ask a guy who threw 13 pitches the night before to grow a pair and go out there.
