My squat and bench workouts consist of warm up sets then 3 work sets of 5 reps, 5 reps, 5+reps. The work sets are all performed at the same weight. If you complete each the next workout you add 5 pounds to the work sets for bench and 10 for squats. I've been struggling with squats due to a groin muscle issue (actually more in the front then the groin) but did hit a new PR for me on bench. My work sets were at 215 and the 3rd set I got 7 reps. I don't like to do 1RM but if the calculation charts are close to accurate that would put my 1RM at around 265. Like mexitucky my wife barely looked up from her book when I told her.

I'm now on a quest for fitness in 2012. I just purchased an ExerBeat program, which should be here by the end of the month. Not expecting any great results, but it's a start. :D

I think I just still find it quite amazing how heavy a 35 lbs weight actually is. To think that this time last year I was carrying that around on my body everyday. I just think it is amazing and I'm fully motivated by that. Everytime I pick that weight up, it gets me going. I went from being a 237 lb out of shape man who used to chew tobacco and sit on the couch and be a bum to a fully energetic and motivated 200 lb man who really enjoys the pain of a really good workout / run. I think I can thank this thread for that. Its really kept me going, thanks guys/gals!

But God forbid if you don't listen to every detail of her day.

I feel you there to an extent. I'm still working on finding my groove but today for the first time ever I actually ran with sweats on after lifting weights and it was certainly different than what I'm used to. I'm usually a shorts and cut off tee kind of guy and those sweats certainly had me sweating. I really just need to get back in to the swing of things. Back around September I got sick with a sinus infection that I think is just now gone as of the past week or so. Needless to say I've felt like a bum, I'm easily the heaviest I've ever been in my life and it makes me sick.

Give the Wiefering's a call. http://www.wiefit.com He and his brother know their stuff.

We have a new swim coach that has been bringing the pain in the mornings. I almost dread going in. Probably means it is good for me.

Down 10 since Jan 1. Amazing what a little exercise will do for you.

That's awesome. I'm almost at 40 lbs, since Jan. 1 last year. Overcoming a shoulder problem, but I'm getting there. Set my new goal for 10 more lbs, and then go from there. Good Luck.:thumb:

Everybody keep up thier weight loss! It can happen if you put in the work. Goals can be reached and you can change your life. I did!

I'm down 133 pounds since Jan.1 2010. Trying to maintain now. This past weekend I ran 12 miles, got to get ready for my 2nd. annual half marathon in May. I no longer use my inhaler for Asthma, lowered my blood pressure to 110 over 71, cholesterol 157, and my body fat is charted in the fitness section of 15%. Today I am at 167lbs.

You need to sign up for a full if you are doing 12 some random weekend in January. I did an 8 mile tempo run on Saturday, 7:36 pace. Considering the St. Louis marathon.
