Knight, Liggins and Jones All Declare

I really wanted Knight to reuturn and thought that he would. Not bc I don't think that he is good enough, I was hoping that he would stay one more season bc of his academics. Knight was academically soph. this season, was going to summer school so he would be a junior next season then graduate after next season.

Jones will imo be drafted on potential, alot of teams imo would be interested based that. I thought that way more than not Jones didn't play as hard as he could have/should have. NBA people will take his laziness into consideration as well so I don't know if he would go real high. jmo

Liggins I believe had about as good of year as possible, I don't believe that he would raise his position any by staying. Aside from that I believe that his family was really in need and he basically had no choice.

 

I will readily admit that I cannot stand all of this, imo if a kid chooses college he should be required to stay two seasons at least. I realize it sounds a little hypocritical bc I love U.K. basketball and love getting the top rated h.s. talent in the country to Lexington so we had better get used to it.

As for where in the draft all will go I really don't know and actually don't pay much attention to th NBA, at least that phase of it. Having said that I feel that Knight may go very high, maybe top five. This looming NBA lockout has kept a few kids around the country in school and that will do nothing but raise Knights position,jmo. Liggins imo will be drafted, maybe not in the top couple of rounds but someone will take him. As for Jones, he will fit in perfectly with alot of NBA players......he is lazy and doesn't care .

Please don't go Brandon Knight!! Good luck to him if he does go along with the others, I wish all of them well. I will admit that I am just a little greedy and a part of me hopes that they find out that they won't go as high as they wanted and come back for another year.

I'm not saying that Knight is coming back, but I don't understand why everyone say's he's 100% gone, if that were the case I'd think he'd be hiring an agent; he'd be dumb not to.

 

I hope that you are right, Knight imo is going to get a feel of how high he will go before he will 100% decide. Knight was putting emphasis on academics. Absolutely. It'll be mid-late 2nd round, but there won't be 60 better guys than him in the draft.

He wanted you to believe he was putting an emphasis on academics and you believed it. If he was that concerned about his academics then he would have announced immediately after the UConn loss he was coming back to school to complete his education.

If Bogans, Magliore, Mohammed and Padgett were drafted I don't see why Liggins would not.

I'm not so sure someone won't bite on Liggins in round 2. He wouldn't be a bad late pickup for somone like OKC, Denver, or another young and up and coming team that could use a good, long defender IMO.

It's not very likely he makes at team after getting taken in the 2nd round. Sure it is possible but not likely. I agree someone would take him in the 2nd round. Heck someone said some GM's were looking at him at late in the first round. Not sure how much I buy into that.

I personally do not get it. NBA teams get 2 rounds to improve their teams. How many take a defensive specialist who is not even a shot blocker? Ligg could not cover Kemba and he is going to face guys like Derrick Rose/Dwade/Lebron in the NBA?

I believe Liggins will be back. I can't see him making an NBA team. He's a solid defensive player but that alone will not carry him in the league. He is not enough of an offensive threat to turn many NBA heads.

If he does decide to go then I think he will end up playing outside the USA.

I don't know the quality of Liggins' NBA career. I'll say this, what was Rondo's career outlook coming out? Seems to me, if Liggins shows some offensive potential, he's an asset.

Liggins is 23 years old, has a baby and his stock will never be higher. He is gone.

I'm not dismissing Liggins making an NBA team. He has great D and has proven he will bust his butt to improve.

Actually No. Bogans was here for 4 years but I think he only started 3 of those. Could be wrong.

 

Mohammad left for the NBA after his junior year and was only a starter for 2 seasons. (saw practically no time at all frosh year)

 

Padgett was here for 5 seasons if memory serves (Sat out '96 due to academics). He started the last 2 1/2 years he was eligible.

 

Magloire was here all four seasons but really on started in '99 and '00.
