December 30, 201015 yr Author Just heard from Birdsfan a little while ago. It looks like he's about to be moved out of CVICU which is great news! Not near as much fluid has built up around his heart and they've removed the drain tube. His leg looks better too. If all things go well, and this is the most awesome part, there's a slight chance he might even get to go home soon, possibly as soon as tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed and please continue the prayers!

Hang in there BF. As you can tell the BGP prayer team is and will be still going for you. GOD is still on his throne and in the prayer answering/healing business. We can even use tasers if needed. . TD took up arms and stated that she was on her way with taser ready and just a couple of post later RTS made the post that you had improved and may be heading home. I guess the taser from TD hit something :ylsuper::lol:.

I don't think they really know what's been causing the problem and I'm not sure if they ever will.

January 2, 201115 yr It's true! I actually escaped the grips of the medical monster. The past 11 days have been a nightmare for me, and my family. I could go into a six-page diatribe on everything that happened (you know I could, too ), but I honestly don't feel like thinking about it, and it wouldn't bring any of us any closer to answering, "why?" Sometimes, the answers are known only unto God. I trust he had a purpose, and that it's my job to figure out what that is, and act accordingly. This is really far from over. I feel much worse than I did before I had the first procedure. I'm having trouble breathing on my own. My leg, though much improved, is still red and swollen. I have a PICC line in my left arm, so that IV Vancomyacin can be infused, here at home, for five more days. I was also found to have an uncommon blood disorder; however, the hematologist assured me it was nothing that would require any treatment. She said, "Don't worry about it." One of the theories suggests that a super-bug I once had, which can hide in the body for years, had suddenly flared up. Another holds that I was having symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure, because they found high blood pressure in one lung. Another theory holds that this was some kind of auto-immune reaction, which manifested in both my leg and heart simultaneously. In short, it may never be known what put me in the hospital for the past week. It was likely a combination of factors coming together at just the wrong time, ala "The Perfect Storm." In any case, I guess I'm going to need some time to shake off the effects. I've gained a ton of weight -- mostly water, I think. I'm holding to the hope that, once this all clears up, I'll be better off, stronger, and more active than I was before this process started. I apologize for not being very open or communicative during all this. I was just too wiped out to type on my little cell phone keyboard. Thankfully, I had my best buddy, Run To State, filling everyone in. And the task he took on was no small one. He was answering calls, placing calls, updating Facebook, and updating BGP. He did a fantastic job for both me and my family...of which he will always be a part. I kept calling him my press secretary. :lol: Thank you, RTS! :thumb: I want to thank all of you who prayed for me, visited, called, or kept me in their thoughts in any way. You all make BGP everything that it is...and that's a pretty special place. :thumb:
January 2, 201115 yr Wow....What is your blood disorder? Just wondering. My dad has hemochromotosis (sp). It is where you carry iron in your organs and the things that have been going on with you are related. If you have it, you have to get blood lettings to rid of the iron. A lot of men have this disorder and don't even know it...you might want to get checked for it...just an idea. An idea sent with love! Mike went back to the hospital and got home the same day you did....I have to think this is a great sign for both of you!
