Miles Simpson vs Shaun Alexander

Featured Replies

So much that he was the third best RB in his recruiting class.

1. Raymond Sanders

2. Brandon Gainer

3. Miles Simpson

After all that he was switched to saftey because he couldn't hack at RB. As far as the Alabama arguement, he is not Trent Richardson type and wasnt highly recruited enough to go to bama. It is yet to be determined if he had the raw talent that Alexander had, but after being switched already, I dont see it.

Someone mentioned about potential.. When I see Miles Simpson get drafted in the first round (19 overall) andbreak the NFL season touchdown record, I will begin to compare.

That's all well and good, but he is the best High School running back in NKY since Alexander, college career or not.

All of these stats come from the state record books, it's safe to say Miles Simpson is the closest thing since Shaun Alexander in NKY and probably will be for a very long time...No other NKY Running backs even hold any state records at all I don't believe...Another interest record is Shaun Alexander has the 3rd most Rushing Attempts all time at 1,003, while Miles Simpson didn't even make that record and the last place guy had 712 Carries so Miles didn't even have that many attempts...With 1,003 attempts I thinks it's safe to say Miles would have been neck and neck with Shaun and maybe even broke some of his records...Another thing to note is look at Simpson's Junior numbers compared to Alexander's Junior numbers they are very comparable, Miles Simpson played his Senior Season with one healthy leg...

Thank you for doing what I am to lazy too. I pretty much agree on all accounts.

Him or frisk I agree.

Him, going away.

Don't know if I'd say there won't be anyone else close for a very long time. Seems to me there's someone right now at Ryle with stats very close, isn't there?

Elliott is very good and will likely pass Miles in every category.

With this post, this thread has officially reached "ridiculous" status. Since everyone else is throwing out names, Chris Hoop was one heckuva back for Bellevue in the 80's.:eyeonyou:

So, when you don't like facts you get sarcastic?

Got it.

With Simpson's career average per carry at Alexander's 1003 career attempts Miles Simpson would have 8445 yards career rushing that would be 1st in the state all time, Shaun Alexander finished with 6662...Even scarier is Miles was averaging 9.5 yards per attempt his senior year but he only had 234 attempts, but if he would have had 456 attempts his senior like Shaun Alexander did than Miles would have finished his senior year with 4332 yards rushing:eek: shattering that state record by over 1,000 yards...Miles Simpson was just as talented as SA in High School, Miles Simpson is a beast that played on a team that actually had a decent QB :thumb:

A few of you Simon Kenton fans are making yourself's seem crazy. Miles Simpson was a great player probably the best since Alexander at least him and Frisk have been since Alexander but neither was as good and it isn't close. Also in all of your analysis you fail to mention that Boone runs the same O then as they do now and we all know the complaints we've heard about Boone and Thompson. So Alexander saw way more men in the box than Simpson ever did. He still put up those numbers with no passing threat, because he was that good.

If runningbacks that are still in high school are being brought into this, J.J. Jude needs to be brought in too. His total high school statistics are going to be off the charts.

We saw what he did against a good defense..Not much..

I don't think that one game is going to have much of an impact as opposed to three full high school seasons.

Alexander didn't do "much" against Trinity, either. Not comparing the two, but it is tough to judge an athlete on a game where they are going against a superior team.

Anyone have stats on that game?
