Could Central compete with Highlands?

Would this be a game this season, or another blowout by the Birds?

If it's next season, I believe Highlands would win big

No way a mediocre team could beat a giant like Lou Central. LOL. Go Birds 20n10

Congrats Birds. 33 in 23 DMR!:sssh:

Central is a young team, but I don't think they would beat the Bluebirds.

I doubt it would be a blowout though.

The way Highlands defense played tonight, it'd be awfully tough for Central to utilize their speed and athleticism the way they do against other 3A teams.

I'd take the Birds by atleast 3 td's.

Central has played Highlands in recent years and the Birds have come away the victors everytime. Highlands would win but the margin of victory would be questionable. It would really depend when you faced Highlands. Highlands was almost completely healthy in the State Title Game and you saw its effect. Catch them earlier in the year when the injuries were mounting up, it would be closer game I'd imagine.

I think the game could wind up being anywhere from 1-4 TD victory for Highlands IMO.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but Central didn't beat Highlands either year that the Birds played them.

They are a very good team but before they try out Highlands, they might worry about beating Mayfield, New Cath and Boyle...not sure they would beat any of them this year.

Central played great today but played a VERY one dimensional team. Even though Belfry executes what they do very well they are for the most part a run only team and that plays into Central athleticism.

Yeah just forgot to type a word or two in my post. Thats what I get when I'm thinking faster than I'm typing!

Couldn't have stated it better myself.

Central would lose to Highlands, but it would be a monster game. Central, for years to come, will likely be a Top 5 team in the state.

The Birds BARELY beat Central in '07...the REAL "BTE" at HHS. They definitely would be a worthy adversary. They have great athletes and coaching...and a jammin' band, too!
