Only 6 people were at that game.

Doesn't this post just ooze class?

Most on here know nothing of the 2 timeouts Manual called with less than 1 minute remaining when T was trying to take a knee in victory formation the first time they played! Manual kept their 1s in to try to score against Trinity's 2s (which they did by throwing deep), then kicked an onside kick with less than a minute to play (down 42-7), THEN called the two time outs when T was taking a knee!. I still disagree 100% with what Beatty did, but there IS a bigger story. Add to that the cheap shots Manual players were throwing when they knew their season was over and I guess Beatty had had enough. Again, I don't agree with what he did, but anyone who thinks he was PICKING a fight is just wrong.

As for the Manual AD, he was being a parent who just happened to be in a position to go out onto the field. He had absolutely no business being out there. Period. When is the last time anyone has seen their AD make it a point to get into it with another coach after a game? Please. As embarrassed as Beatty should be, Zuberer should be more so. Everyone wants to hold Beatty to a higher standard (which i am fine with) but then give Zuberer a free pass! OMG. Thank goodness Manual has a coach who gets it (I give all the credit in the world for Dr. Lucas calling - or accepting - the truce) because the leadership of their AD leaves a lot more to be desired than anyone wants to admit.

CF! This saved me a bunch of time! I'm coping sports fan's homework... as I stated before, I would have taken a knee... GO Rocks! #20! This thread needs to be closed. Let's move on to the games for this week!

I have no idea why we didn't take a knee, but this thought occurs to me. Considering that we likely knew at that point that the next round of the playoffs we would be facing a much better X team, could it possibly have been we were practicing end of game strategy with some key players? I mean, with the exception of a few games, our key players have been pulled well before the end of the game. Could it be that we wanted to get some "end game" experience?

Very good point Rockmom!!

You're not serious, are you?

I WISH it were "end game experience", but alas, you have to chalk this one up to bad judgment.

And there is no need for the "6 fan" comment.

Time to look ahead to Friday night!

^ It's over.....move on folks. Many want us to fail, and that may happen this Friday, so there may be joy in Mudville.

She makes a lot more more sense than many in this thread that want to think it was some evil attempt from Trinity to run up the score.
Glaser can be annoying and sometimes full of crap but never as classless as yelling and screaming at an AD. Beatty did nothing to help peoples' perception of him for sure! Not sure even Trinty fans can argue that.. And please don't say Dawkins is not a big piece if the first teams sets.

Go Tigers, pull off the upset of the century.

Coach Glaser only uses his kid tatics to make himself look even a smaller person that he really is. I hear X parents say that every kid loves Coach G when they leave X, well my son played in three straight champonship games at Trinity and he is really good friends with several from the 06-07-08 X teams, and they sure have a different perspective of Coach G than most of you have. The broom. tipping hat and stiil claiming the best team did not win, is all just a disgrace to the Tiger faithful they just don't want to admit it. They really deserve better than they are getting.

And Coach Beatty should of taken a knee , i think most will agree!

It wouldn't be fair to Glaser to not mention the famous Umbrella episode too!!!

Beatty = no umbrella, no broom, and no knee. Like Meatloaf says, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. :thumb:

Joe Paterno to Lou Holtz after Penn St scored a last second TD in a rout of Holtz's team....

That is great for the college game..............................CF is right..........Take the high road and take a knee. And for goodness sake quit trying to spin this bad decision into something correct (practicing end of game strategy get real).

You know when someone is wrong when they avoid the issue and try to point out the faults of others (this thread is full of what St. X, Male, Manual, etc did wrong) in order to justify your wrong doing. As someone who respects the Trinity program and Catholic schools in general I have lost respect for them and some of the fans who spin it to be a justifiable decision.....And to call for the thread to be closed? That speaks volumes.

Since I'm the one who theorized the "end of game strategy" post, tell me why it's so out of line? I wasn't there and I have no idea why. Just because I present a theory doesn't mean a thing.

It speaks volumes to me how quickly people who had supposed 'respect' for Trinity have jumped ship. All it took was one game and all of a sudden all this supposed 'respect' is gone.

I would theorize (again) that there was no thought one way or another until this happened. If there was any respect, it was begrudgingly given. And many got what they really wanted, what they feel is a good solid reason to "hate" Trinity.

It cracks me up that even when years and years of evidence proves that Trinity doesn't try to 'run up the score', all it took was one late game running play to cement some sort of nefarious intent on the part of the Rocks.

What speaks volumes is the number of people who are professing "respect" and "admiriation" of Trinity who are so deeply disappointed, yet have not one time ever said anything about the team in the past. It also speaks volumes that while most Trinity posters are on record in this thread as having said they think that we should have taken a knee, the entire fanbase, program and apparently Catholic schools have been branded.

Good Point(s) - once again and as always. Any objective fan of HS football is aware of and recognizes, what T has accomplished and the manner in which they have done so (over the many years and many many games). I agree with you, One game or one play should not be capable of "such destruction" on a grand scale.

I was not at the game either. I have no idea as to the; thought, motivation, or reasoning for such a play call. But I bet there is/was one. I do not offer that as an excuse - but only as the distinct possibility - that "there is more to the story".

Let's concentrate on X. GO ROCKS.

Maybe those of us who have nothing to do with HS football and are involved with schools that do not even field football teams see Trinity as the pinnacle of Ky HS football and thus would think their coach would be above getting an extra touchdown regardless of how evil the Manual folk are........................ Also being affiliated with a Catholic school you should know that any time a Catholic school does something that is deemed "non Catholic" it is going to be pointed out very quickly.

Lets face it Trinity is going to take a ton of criticism on this and rightfully so.............What speaks volumes is the amount of people getting on here and trying to defend the actions. Why not be humble and say you know what we screwed up...........Our track record is really good in this regard but this time we did wrong......That would speak volumes about the Trinity people instead of teh finger pointing at other programs
