Three years ago (I believe) the regular season Trinity/X game was stopped in the 1st quarter due to severe thunderstorms. It was not finished and by KHSAA rules Trinity was declared the winner since they were leading at the time. There was no second game that year.

The following year Trinity was blown out by X in the regular season game and afterwards their head coach could be seen hoisting an umbrella at mid-field.

Last year in the championship game with a substantial lead in the 4th quarter X's head coach called a fake field goal that went for at TD. After the play he went to the numbers and tipped his hat to the Trinity fans.

There was also the incident a few years back when X swept the regular season games at all 3 levels and their head coach took a broom to mid field and "swept" the logo.

I am really amazed that this thread is (a) still going and (b) hasn't been shut down. Impressive.

I guess my early posts got people on the band wagon in the world of reality. Early on, I was getting lambasted for such comments as "there is no excuse" and that "Trinity lost a lot of respect tonight."

Rockmom - I feel for you. I really do. You blindly support a program without cause and feel that no matter the circumstance, your program had "a good reason" for doing what they did. The fact is, I didn't need to be there to see what they did was despicable and low. I don't have to "know" the reason because there is NO REASON that can justify that action and there aren't enough canned goods or Saturday's with mentally/physically challenged kids that can undo what was done last week. It is out there and will forever be linked to the Trinity football program, and more specifically, their head coach.

And as far as you being shocked that it only took one action for people to jump off the Trinity Support band wagon...really? Ever work in the real world? You can spend a lifetime doing good things for others and if you screw up just ONE TIME, all of that can be flushed down the toilet because it calls into question the motive for doing all the other "good" things you did. That is EXACTLY what has happened here, plain and simple. It's nice to recognize all the good they do in the community. You know what...THEY SHOULD DO THOSE THINGS! They shouldn't get to use those things as a "Get out of Jail Free" card every time they decide to beat up on a lesser talented school, and that's all they did last week. They beat up a weaker kid...how's that sound? Is BULLYING a subject at Trinity or is it just understood when you go there that if you have a chance to demoralize an opponent, you DO JUST THAT.

Trinity, St. Xavier and every other Catholic school throughout this NATION is held to a higher standard...as it should be. And they shouldn't hide from it or bemoan it. They should embrace it and hold it "on high" as THE motivation for creating leaders of tomorrow in today's youth. It's easy to be a fan when you are running a special needs basketball camp or burying dead people that no one cares about....but be a fan when your institution clearly screws up and simply admit the wrong-doing. Stop being afraid of what others will think of you. There is only ONE that matters, and HE did not like what HE saw last Friday.

I'm not saying this as a moderator. I'm saying this as a plain ole human being. YOU ARE OUT OF LINE! You know NOTHING and yet you pontificate as if you do. There was no bullying and no "beating up on the weaker kid." It's freakin' football, and they're a 6A school. And they're the most private of all the public schools in Louisville, and the most selective of all schools (public OR private) in Louisville, so don't give me the "poor Manual" schtick.

You can pity me, I have no problem with that. You can hate me OR the program. I have no problem with that. But, yes, I will defend them, and it's not a blind defense. One time...ONE time we don't take a knee and you pull out the who load of crap about being held to a higher standard, etc. We DO hold ourselves to a higher standard, and maybe that's why Manual was getting beat in the first place.

What DON'T I know? I've asked this question multiple times and no one can tell me what I don't know? But you're right...I don't know what I don't know.

As far as defending Manual...I am not defending Manual. I could care less who the opponent was. It was the action that bothered me. It was wrong, and most on here recognize this to be true. Why is so hard for you to simply apologize on behalf of your coach and move on? Unless, of course, you feel no apology is necessary.

I don't hate you or the Trinity program...please. I don't KNOW you or the Program...as you have so eloquently pointed out. If I don't know you, how could I possibly "hate" you? Besides, I don't HATE anything...I am a man of God, believe it or not. And how do I know it was only "one time" you didn't take a knee? I bet if I poll the St. X and Manual posters, they would be able to find several instances of Trinity being, shall we say, "less than sportsmanlike".

I believe the Trinity family, AS A WHOLE, holds themselves to a higher standard. I do not believe the Football coach does or this incident would NEVER have happened. Period.

I just wish these other teams would get better so Trinity/Coach B wouldn't have to worry about such things...

Make it a level playing field for everyone and give us a chance. ^^^

CardsFans is pretty upset and I don't know why. But he is right on several points...You take the knee. I've been around football since 1960.

I resurrected this thread for villecoach. In the Manual/PRP thread, I never said Dr. Lucas said anything. He has simply forbidden his Freshmen or JV teams to play Trinity. You can learn a great deal of history searching for certain teams in the forum search. This thread was found by searching for Trinity Manual.

The Trinity-Manual results from 2010 forward all Trinity victories:2010: 42-7 regular season, 48-13 playoffs; 2011:58-7 reg season, 55-0 playoffs; 2012 reg season 55-27;2013 regular season 38-30.

I have been told by a long-time coaching buddy that Dr Lucas corrected another coach by saying "call me Doctor Lucas, not Coach Lucas." It is a shame Nero is out for the Crimsons.

Heard a story that he has even instructed the 'Zebras' to call him that ?????
